Trialist from Ghana.  Anyone heard anything about him apart from being a trialist from Ghana

Highlights show him as the same kind of player as Djoum. Hopefully the kid does well.

Evening news article here

Love to have a Cletus at the club. Though from how another poster said on the bounce game thread (dont know i we can name posters who haven't posted on this one) how he played, I would not hold my breath that we would sign him

According to Transfermarkt he is an 18 year old Ghanian who is a left midfielder.

Nae use to us. It seems he can dribble and pass. Dose not help in CLs hoofball tactics.

We've signed plenty of players over the years who had far bigger teams interested in them, who have turned out to be duds.

If he tries the little flashy moves when we're 1-0 down to Hamilton he'll be crucified....!!

Can we all at least admit those soccer playing fields are actually just fields.

There was a team of oxen and a plough on standbye just in case the pitch got flattened too much by all the dudes jogging around on it.

Can Hearts just give £3 per month to Water Aid? Every team is looking for the next big thing out of Africa and I sincerely doubt Hearts are going to be the ones to discover him. We've been burned in the African market enough times to know better. How about we get back to blooding young Scottish players so that we can try to take 3 off San Marino next time...?

Ah bollocks, not another lazy loser.

This boy is Djoum's replacement. Bet you, an 18 year old, I am not sure what to think about it. The pros are energy wise, he has plenty and a good passing range (obvious from videos), the cons are a lack of SPL experience and it's a total gamble

We should clearly only be signing proven top level players aged 24-28 who are the finished article.

Why do we hear about players coming for trials at Hearts when many will not be signed?   Leaking of trialist's names does not happen as much at other Scottish clubs where usually the first you hear of the player is when they have signed (scarf over the head photo).

Seeing as this is a Hearts message board I'm going to go out on a limb here. And categorically state that Hearts could have playing week in and out the Scottish equivalent of Rooney, Giggs and Bale and we would not have all three play against San Marino.

Levein has signed so many players that all I took from this story was the alternative headline "Decent Hearts XI beaten by QOS"

:D i'm not the eternal pessimist before anyone shouts!

Can we sign one or two then instead?

I would think more we are just looking at the laddie.

Did we ask this guy to play wide left as part of a trial ?? Everything about him screams central midfield.

You can see why he has caught the eye of Hearts: doesn't do anything too exciting but keeps possession and is tidy with the ball.

Seems to have a good fizzicality about him as well.

We should do.  We are absolutely laden with spare dosh.

That looks horrendous. I don't know what's worse, the player or the parks! They make Elphinstone Park look like the Nou Camp.

We should be considering the amount of pledges month to month. Oh wait that’s being used elsewhere.

That's what I like best. Proper athlete, typical CL signing this if it happens. He could probably play in quite a few positions

To me he looks way too good for the reserves

Wide positions are quite specialised - this kid seems like your archetypal centre mid.

Not sure about way too good for the reserves: would need to prove himself in that environment first?

Not for me he wouldn't

Great player

*Being realistic you're probably right

Can pass sideways and backwards so will be fit right in to our style of play.....surely worth a 3 and a half year contract? :HeartsManspotrun:

How far can he launch a ball? This is the most important attribute imo

Like Haring, Lee, Edwards, Bozanic, Sammon, Vanacec, etc?

That’s the standard of the Ghanaian premier league? A professional league? I’m going to get on skyscanner and find the next flight to Ghana, because I’m going pro. It looked worse than east of Scotland level, and so does he.

i love the last highlight, where he missed the ball and they try to claim it was a step over or something.

If he has long term injury troubles, then he fits the bill.

Hope he never got his birth certificate from the same place that Larry Kingston did.

Don't want a 45 yr old turning up claiming to be 22!

Even to this day I don't know how old Larry Kingston is!

Cletus Nombil is the best footballer name ever (well, apart from Rafael Scheidt).

Yeah they’ve all worked out well right enough.

The only success story story has been a defender we put into midfield because of injury and realised he was good there.

How long is he with us? Wonder what the Visa issue was in czech? Looks like the lad has been whoring himself around to get a european club. Lets see what happens.

But they are the type of player you said we should sign. Now you are complaining about them...

When was the boy relegated with Partick sitting on the bench a proven top level player?  Or long shots in the lower leagues down south?  The Livi Captain is an improvement.

I think he's Ghana be a good signing for us.
