I think Wighton has been scoring a few for the reserves

At the risk of starting a big pile of shite patter bollocks, there's clearly a player in there.

Something about a £20m bit of financial chicanery, dubious donations, money laundering...its mind bending stuff but fecking hilarious.

I don't suppose there was any mention of them only paying their bank a percentage of their debt back,    due to them trading effectively insolvent?

It is a possibility but that sort of surgery can never guarantee 100% recovery.

Was it not a standard cartilage op?

I had both knees done a few years ago with no probs.

Hope we manage to sign him up for next season , as we sure need his drive and quality . If we dont, then lets hope he has a cup final as a farewell . Will be interesting to see how the rest of the midfield step up in an attacking sense and how CL deals with the loss, anthing like the last period of absence ................ not worth thinking about !

I wonder if Hearts have a plan B if God forbid Naismith gets bad news regarding his latest injury, or the other scenario that all is well with his recovery and he decides to move on to play for the mighty dollar next season, is there another experienced player out there who might replace him, a while back the name Charlie Adam was mentioned, any other names come to mind anyone?

It is what it is.

A player with injuries and it's catching up again with him.

Hopefully he can come back and play some more years.

Other players need to step up.

Baws

These Sun journalists are the dugs baws are they not. They have the results of all the tests already, tests that Naismith doesn't get until Friday. Did their last report not say that after meeting his surgeon he was then going to see another surgeon based in the United States who he had visited at some point in the past. You'll have to forgive me, I wouldn't beleive the Sun newspaper if it put an article online saying today is Wednesday 6 March 2019 and it is 23:32.

You want to book in so I can see your knees now?

Heard today he’s seeing a specialist later this week but the initial diagnosis from the clubs medical team wasn’t great. They fear his season could be over.

Time will tell.

Looks like you were correct sadly enough

Shite.

Only silver lining is it may well increase our chances of getting him permanently.

I can’t see the yanks taking a chance on him with his recent injury record...especially with some games being on artificial surfaces.

He will be fresh for the final at least

A Beattie-esque farewell in the final...…...drawing 1-1 with Celtic in the last minute of time added on and we receive a dodgy penalty. Up steps Naisy to blast it straight down the middle. Hearts win the cup, Naisy retires and Lennon ends up in a padded cell alongside Inspector Dreyfuss; only Lennon keeps seeing Craig Levein instead of Clouseau.

Time for Wighton to step up to the plate.  Would be good to see him playing alongside a target man.

Re Naismith, I’m not shocked.  Levein seems to be adamant about running players with niggles into the ground.  When Uche returned, it was an ample opportunity to rest him for the odd game (Auchinleck comes to mind).  Instead we’ve thrown him into every game and played him out of position to spare the blushes of a weak midfield.  He’s a battler and clearly would have wanted to play every minute of every game, but it’s up to Craig to manage that for the sake of his physical wellbeing.

Fully expect Berra to go down in a heap soon as well, you can see it coming a mile off.

If this is true then barring an absolutely massive arrival of form for Wighton, we are completely donald ducked.

Let's be honest, we're complete shite without Naismith. If he is out for 2 months we'll probably get past Thistle - just, lose to ICT at Hampden and fall to a succession of awful home losses with equally terrible performances and the fans are going to turn on Levein even more than they are at present. This could get nasty.

Injury has absolutely ****ed us this season. Don't think I've ever seen a season where we've been so badly affected by injuries to the players we can't afford to lose.

As for CL, to build a side so completely and totally reliant on an injury prone loan player is just crazy and will probably cost him his job. Everyone could see how much we needed quality wide and creative players during the last two transfer windows and we stuck it out with Morrison, Mulraney and Demi. Not sure how many games those three were ever likely to win for us.

Hard to see any positives in life without Naismith.

Time to prepare for life without him. Might get one more game if lucky but then we should move on swiftly. Great player but this injury history, age and wages is too big a risk.

This has made me doubt for the first time whether or not Naismith would be a sensible signing in summer, we're not a rich club and he'd want to earn a wage probably higher than we could usually offer. Would signing him be value for money if he ended up missing half a season again? It'll all depend on how he recovers and how much he wants but for me it's not an any means must situation anymore

Cut The Crap

Every other team in the league has managed to win games without Steven Naismith playing for them.

Surely we can too?

We played fine against Celtic when Naismith went off. Think though it might be time for others such as Cochrane, Keena, Vanacek, Morrison to come into contention

Indeed. What really really fecked us was having Haring and Naisy out together. This is still a blow, but not fatal.

We're unbeaten in the 135 mins since Naisy went off v Celtic, after all.

Agree. We will be using a large chunk of our budget on a player that is a risk injury wise. A huge miss he would be though.

Conundrum for Naismith and us now, do we sign him, does he sign for us, do other clubs risk signing him?

Will this be the end of his playing career? Does he want to be a manager? Will he be a good manager? Would we want him as a manager?

Quite happy that it’s only two months and not 6 or 12. Should be fit for next season providing he signs and we shouldn’t rush him back.

I suppose it depends on what other options are available and given he hasn’t yet decided on the contract offer, it’s very possible that we have our eye on someone else anyway.

This is where I am too.

If he's asking for something in the 5-7 grand a week then I wouldn't blame the club if they walked away. We simply couldn't afford to push the boat out on a player with major injury problems.

I'd far rather use that money and really strengthen other areas of the park.

Can'y wait for another run of games without a goal. The management didn't have a clue what to do without Naismith last time he was out (and at Partick).

We should be better prepared this time. However, I've lost all faith in the management team so I'm not holding my breath.

We ha e less injuries in General and far more forward options.

We must handle it better this time.... Surely.

I wouldn't hold my breath either tho, it's only Thursday. ?

Completely agree.

The only positive I can come up with, and well it’s hardly a positive, we’ve been rubbish even with Naismith since the turn of the year so arguably no better or worse off. And indeed of all our expectations are lowered even more, which they absolutely should be, then maybe we will cope better with the upcoming disappointments.

Lets be honest. We’re rubbish. And I’m really not that convinced if everyone was fit that we’d be that much better to be honest.

Pinning all our hopes on a loan player approaching the end of his career and who has spent most of the season injured is madness.
