It would make sense. Aberdeen and one of the Glasgow teams has to travel anyhow, so why make another support travel needlessly.

This is the SPFL/SFA though so I wouldn't be surprised if Aberdeen-Rangers is played there, needlessly inconveniencing 15,000 or so Hearts fans.

Knowing the way Rangers have been helped out at every opportunity, we’ll probably play Celtic at Ibrox with a hefty fee paid for the hosting of the game.

Correct. Rangers v Aberdeen at Celtic Park. One 12 o'clock kick off the other 5pm.

Can’t do both in Glasgow on same day.

Aberdeen will be in Edinburgh as they will say it’s an advantage to us.

So Aberdeen, Rangers and Hearts fans all on the trains going in all directions....... what could go wrong!

if its Murrayfield, it has to be us playing there.

Reckon we’ll be pumped to Hampden however that would be a logistical nightmare with around 25k Rangers fans coming the other way at the same time.

It could be that rangers play the saturday as they are at home in Europe, and have Celtic on the Sunday as they are away in Germany midweek. That’s the only way to get around it without having a tie played at Ibrox, CP, or Murray field

You would think not. But they'll find a way. Huge psychological boost for Aberdeen if they can get Rangers out of Glasgow. Can't see the SPFL allowing that.

We are away to the Celtic the Saturday after.

Switch that game to tynie the week before on a Sunday and we then play them the following week at Hampden in the cup

Logistically, that would be the easiest and least disruptive. For that reason, I fully expect the SPFL to do the opposite.

Just make one of them play on the Saturday.

Festive fixtures in England sometimes get played 2 days after the other

Can’t see either of those scummy barstewards accepting that.

There are midweek SPL games (we play Hibs at Tynecastle) so that won't be happening unless they are canceled.

They’ll play the aberdeen, rangers tie at Murrayfield, saying that the decision was 100% based on the travelling Aberdeen fans.

Hibs refused Murrayfield in 2012 on the basis we 'knew' Murrayfield. Celtic can't really say that as they played 2 qualifying ties there in 2014.

Celtic have a bigger support than Rangers.  Hearts have a bigger support than Aberdeen.  The only sensible option would be Hearts v Celtic at Murrayfiled, which has a significantly higher capacity then Hampden.

It'll never happen though!

I think Celtic know Hampden a lot better than we know Murrayfield, so they have no argument on that basis.

Rangers might accept a Sunday.

Celtic are sometimes erm... a wee bit ‘busy’ that day.

Would it ? Rangers and Aberdeen fans all arriving/leaving in Edinburgh while Hearts fans are trying to get out of Edinburgh ? 3 sets of fans travelling. The right thing is for Rangers to be in Glasgow and Hearts to be in Edinburgh. Only 2 sets of fans travelling to different cities.

Yep.  The one thing that is sure that what is simplest for the supporters - particularly us and Andersen - will be the last thing on the minds of the SPFL suits and the TV people.

Police won't allow both games in Glasgow on same day. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45660871

Except there was a thread on here the other day as the the organisers came out and said tough we arent moving things to suit the OF if they are kept apart one sat one sun. Tho no doubt that will change now

The easiest way would be us at Murrayfield and the Rangers tie at Hampden.

Only really one set of fans travelling as Aberdeen would need to travel regardless.

How they split the games time wise on the Sunday will be dictated by TV.

It's the SFA so it's the flip of a Green coin as to what they decide to do...
