weegie jambo
Whenever I drive through to Tynecastle I always come on the ring road, come off at Dreghorn and down Colinton Road to the Ettrick Road/Spylaw Road area, park up and walk to Tynecastle from there, so I was dismayed last night to see The Royal Ettrick boarded up and looking a bit sad for itself. It was always a good Jambo pub and pleasant for a bite to eat pre game especially if the other half was with me! It was also an old haunt of mine way back in my late teens when I lived in Auld Reekie. Anyone know whats happening to it? Refurb? flats? It will be sad to see the place go as it was such a part of my heritage.

Albert Tatlock
Being developed into luxury flats. Real shame as was great place to take kids before a game.
Greenbank2
Gilsland, Orwell, Stewart House, Redholm House and now the Ettrick. In their day these were all busy hotels with bars in the area. Simple economics is that the property is worth much more than the business. Shame.
indianajones
The scenes during that goal in the basle game were unreal in the Ettrick. Good memories.
