robbo1874 Posted May 17, 2018 Share Posted May 17, 2018 Help please. I'm stuck. I'm trying to get my cheap TV (Luxor) to go through my decent but old hifi. It's Sony. TV speakers are gash. TV doesn't have normal RCA connection but both have optical cable ports. So I've hooked them up but no sound. Nothing! Now I've been through the sound settings and there wasn't an option to turn sound to the optical cable. The other option is to use the headphone port on TV by buying a RCA to headphone cable. I've got this already but was trying to avoid this as we use it to listen to SoundCloud/YouTube through hifi. It's obviously not as simple as just plugging the optical in at each end?
