All Out Attack
Leaving aside the disappointing performance today, I thought there was a rediculous moment in the 2nd half, when our manager and 3 coaches were pretty much in a huddle at the side of the pitch trying to decide what to do next. Can't help but think that four of them are simply not required. Perhaps one of the reasons for our utter lack of form just now, is because our manager still takes a back seat for most of the week and leaves it to his coaching staff. Do we really need all these coaches? How much must it be costing?
Meadows
We’ve got more coaches than Parks of Hamilton , none of which are capable of taking us where we want to go ?

ramrod
True and everyone of them is worse than the rest . We were playing our best football of the game and just back in it when our head coach makes two horrendous changes that cost us the game , shambles , can only imagine what it's like during the week on the training ground , jokers to a man off the park aswell as on it seems . DG_HMFC
I'm beginning to wonder if Levein is actually the manager. I'm positive that he is asking the other coaches (mainly MacPhee) what they would do in the situation we found ourselves in within the game. The long chats and the lack of changes was frightening today, and either Levein has lost the plot and doesn't have a clue what he's doing anymore, or he's still letting the coaches make decisions. tian447
Levein stood applauding most of the complete shite that was going on today, including one incident where Randall, under no pressure whatsoever, punted the ball into touch. I don't think the number of coaches is the problem, it's the man at the top.
So Make Some Noise..
Sure I seen an interview with CL where he said Mon - Wed he leaves the coaches to it and then he really takes charge in the build up to a game. I'm really uncomfortable with this if true, Austin doesn't have his pro licence and Fox and Daly are far too inexperienced to be in charge of training sessions. Appreciate the sports scientists / fitness guys will dictate a lot of the 'recovery' work but still..

Debut 4
If it was advice CL was asking for then I'd be worried. But is this part of the coaches learning? Are we using important matches to let them decide instead of the gaffer? In the past a manager would bounce off his assistant and vice versa. Seems there's too many cooks etc... Pistol1874
I’d love to know what they work on. Half of them don’t look fit enough, technique is at best questionable, every time someone gets the ball it looks like a surprise and only then do they start to think about what to do with it (pass it backwards normally), we don’t press as a team, we lost every second ball for well over an hour and the different expressions of exasperation from your fellow fans is more entertaining and creative than the football. Utter shite today, that first half was an out and out disgrace.

I have said this before, but in defence, some said it was Catjrs fault, as he ignored him, and that we would see his skills better under Levein. Nothing has changed. He seems a total waste of space. Apparently Daly isn't up to much then that leaves Fox who is also very early into his coaching career. It's actually just a shambles of a situation. gnasher75
Presumably Levein wants to do the job for as short as time as possible before moving back upstairs and appointing Daly as head coach. If so, he is using this season as a transition period where he trains up these three guys and gives them as much responsibility as possible before handing over in the summer. But what we want is a manager who is 100% focused on the job and who the players know is the boss. Like Mcinnes or Lennon or Rodgers or pretty much any other manager. Levein could still do that but it's clear he doesn't want to. IMO Ann Budge should not have allowed him to continue with his coach development programme when he took the job. The model doesn't work and these guys just aren't up to being Hearts manager now or in the future.
Captain America
Was the same last week when Walker went off injured, all huddled up taking an eternity to decide what to do. KyleLafferty
Think you find the 3 coaches will be putting training sessions on such as passing, dribbling, shooting, set pieces, possesion games. Then craig on the Thursday and Friday, will lay out the tactics on how to win the game and work on team shape. Macphee is the set piece guy. Dusk_Till_Dawn
It’s not the numbers that’s the problem. It’s the fact that talentless people are telling each other how good they all are. KyleLafferty
I’m not saying it’s working, I’m just saying that’s what happens. Something is wrong. Lack of confidence and risk taking is evident. You really just want to see players take a gamble and play a through ball, if it comes off it comes off, but the lack of trying is disappointing. Take a player on, if you get tackled, work you arse off to get back and win it, then go again.
Locky
Number of coaches per se, isn't the problem. The fact that we're playing without any game plan or sense of direction is. If such a large coaching team can't get the players to execute something then that's when it becomes a problem.

Howdy Doody Jambo
Players and coaches need games the more the better you learn more from playing games than training all week, you get match fit by playing games, understanding with team mates develop with a settled first 11 It looks as though half our team have just been introduced to each other on match day We should be playing closed door friendliies during the week rather than the training we have been doing,we would develop quicker it's just taking us longer giving the squad and our coaches less game time

jambo19
The number of coaches isn't the problem, in fact our coaching staff numbers compared to a champions league side or English premiership side are quite small. We have a manager, assistant and 2 first team coaches. Then a fitness and goalie coach. In 2012 we won the cup with the same, Sergio, Cabral, Cruz and Locke as manager, assistant and first team. More coaches actually helps training as well. Quite frankly looking at yesterdays game, if Isma scores his 1v1 we win the game 2-1. First half was dire due to players on the park and as the game went on the game management didn't really improve despite us gradually getting into the game. That's down to personnel and management, not the number of coaches we have. Individual errors, an unsettled, unconfident starting 11, poor recruitment and a number of injuries all at the same time.
