Can we have more Jewish jokes please.

Sounds like a banning competition.

I just find it amusing that they might have owners with tighter grips on the purse strings than Petrie.

Let's be honest, we would all hate it.

It wouldn't take that much investment for a team in Scotland to reach the top, relative to the money thrown around in other leagues. Let's say ?20 Million (a handful of ?2 to ?3 million players) would comfortably see a team finish 2nd, with a decent push for top spot. With the Europa League being a potential route into the Champions League, it could be the way to do. Now ?20 Million is never going to win you the Europa League (Cup, whatever it's called these days), but the sort of money that is discussed in the space of 30 minutes when signing a player down south would be permanently life changing for a Scottish team.

If it happened to a team in Scotland, it would be completely and utterly shite, unless it happened to us.

The problem there is ?20million would get you second

that's all- with no recoup of it either

no CL money, the ?20 million is gone all wasted- and for what ? a random stab at Europa qulaifiying where you could draw Liverpool or some high profile team and get papped out

not really worth it

You could get the same result from 2 million, or less

Thank you George Galloway. Very funny though

Also I refuse to recognise them until they retreat to the 1875 borders.

To be fair they have all graduated with degrees in Hobonomics, specialising in the financial dealings with Heart of Midlothian FC..

Still with all that spare foreskin going they can replace Cummings

Leith as an independent state struggling to get accepted by its neighbours has been done already.

More houses around the Shore would be okay

Is this story for real, or did it come from Golders Greenginger?

Anyhoo  Hibs fans will watch trainspotting backwards so as they can see the drug dealer giving the money back

True. But ?50 Million or ?100 Million could get you into the promised lands of the Champions League.

All you need to do is beat Celtic. It must be one of the easiest leagues to qualify from, relative to the rest.

Make it out of the groups and you're golden.

Would be the ultimate irony, especially on the heels of Hibs buying a load of Lithuanians and bringing lots of players in on loan.

Yes, I would guess that an initial outlay of ?50million would get you past Celtic, and maybe into the groups, but then you would only recoup ?20million or so, and probably not make it beyond that- bearing in mind that ?50million is now 1 midfielder for some of your opponents at that stage

THe world has gone mad......

Chelsea, in the EPL owe abramovic over ?1billion, despite their massive income

Neymar wages + transfer fee is ?400 million over the contract

?50 million = chump change

It did happen to us. Then look what happened next. Hibs are welcome to try! 20 or 30m might get Hibs close to Celtic for one season. They'll need to spend that every season though. That's where Romanov fell down. And we did it when there were two CL spots up for grabs. No investor will ever our money into a Scottish team again, including Rangers, until we have a 2nd CL spot again.

Indeed

"permanently life changing" for a Scottish team is usually closely tied to "permanently life ending" for those teams who have chased this folly.

Listened to radio Scotland pontificating that Sevco have spent ?10 million to assist Pedro

That is a hell of a lot to beat an Aberdeen side you could buy completely including stadium for that

It's not outwith the realms of possibility that a billionaire could fund an Edinburgh club to the hilt just because he or she loved our wonderful historic city and the investment would be comparative peanuts.

We're it to happen it would be Hearts. Drug infested Lochend just wouldn't have the appeal.

Because of the HSL no single person can now own Hibs....so its probably a load of bollox!

Hmmm... is that right though? I was under the impression that HSL are not going to own a majority share in Hibs. I believe they will have c49% at maximum uptake, and that would mean they could influence but never actually own.

Yes....even if they only had 1% still no single person can own them. The flip side is they will never own Hibs either so a majority holder will have the run of the show regardless. Point being if someone is coming in to own a club the hibs ******s have pretty much restricted that by falling for the ponzi!
