See that every week at the Commonwealth Pool and, because I a mature adult, I usually stick the Go Ape leaflet in front of it.

There's a holiday inn in Edinburgh that must think they have a lot of interested customers as all of them find their way to the nearest bucket

Edinburgh born and bred, I have for 40 years been a regular visitor, It has been a gripe of mine for some time that every hotel, guest house and B&B has an array of leaflets about the city's attractions ... many of them shall we say rather specialist in nature. The two major sporting institutions in the city have however always been absent. Now that Hearts have a museum as well as matches to see, I have never understood why Hearts have never attempted and still show no signs of interest in tapping the market of hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city. Well done to Hibernian FC in showing some initiative.

Once we get the stand built, and regular tours scheduled, that includes museum and shop visits, then yes, we should absolutely tap into this market.

We should be doing more to entice tourists to Tynie. We should have a day special, visit the museum, attend a match then meal in new stand etc

I'm far too mature to take them all, stick them in an envelope without a stamp, and post them to Easter Road.

To be fair there's not been many spare seats (not sold) in the last few years but this is defo something we need to be doing next season.

I'm not sure about tourism, but I hope once the redevelopment is completed,we can probably hire out our function halls during the fringe festival, that would probably be a cracking money spinner,if people can go to the EICC for shows,I'm sure they'll go to Tynecastle Park?

Very true... With the extra walkup seats, especially over Christmastime, there is money to be made....

I will add a another gripe regarding Hearts and Tourists at the Partick game when we were selling the Fanzine around 30 people were asking where they could buy match tickets. Sadly it was after 1.30 and weren't able to buy tickets the 30 were different groups however majority were from abroad and I could not help but think lost revenue and the Club not being seen in a good light by tourists given it is the 21st century

Out with a small kiosk type thing in the street there's not a lot we can do at present although I do agree lost revenue is lost revenue.

Sadly it is as simple as you say a small kiosk at McLeod Street with the Match tickets and a card machine and cash and you can sell

Reminds me of the 'Why does Wally wear stripes?'

..........'Because he doesn't want to be spotted!'

Anyway, I think we should look to maximise our brand/identity both directly and indirectly to increase our income and exposure. If that means putting out fliers or the likes then so be it.

Always think having an outlet like the smaller clubs able to sell tickets until near kickoff gives the opportunity for passers by or tourists to see a game.... Maybe a couple of hundred like cinemas on the day.

I was at one of the new stand presentations during the planning permission stage and recall Ann Budge (could have been Scott Gardner) mentioning we were speaking to Visit Scotland about incorporating Tynecastle into Edinburgh tourism building on the Heart of Midlothian on the high street, Macrae's battalion and then tour of Tynecastle (think they also mentioned the usher hall and how that was the location for the battalion signing up) I'm sure she mentioned about buses passing (assume open top?) as well.

Has anyone actually taken a look at the Hibs one?

What are they actually using it to push? Do they even have things such as stadium tours etc over there? Or is the flier just a mechanism to try and shift match tickets? Given the rate that they give them away, im almost surprised the fliers aren't actual match tickets themselves.

I think there is a market there though, and as someone said above - putting together a package including museum visit, stadium tour and match ticket in to a good value bundle should defo be something worth considering. Apart from the tourists, its the kinda thing which would make a good gift for someone.

As with most of these sorts of things, I would also suggest that the 'finishing point' for any such tours etc should be the club shop. And would also suggest that the range of gifty type merchandise / souveniers needs massively updated accordingly.

Further more, what about involving 'official' photos on things like the tours?

Everyone on the tour gets their photo taken at a designated point on the stadium tour, and then when they come in to the gift shop at the end of the tour the photos are all up on a big screen allowing folk the chance to buy them if they wish - similar to what you get at theme parks etc.

In keeping with that perhaps we could keep the old toilets n the old stand and photograph people's expressions of terror when they see them

Haven't ever picked one up, but they do tours

One of my friends posted it to Facebook, think it was ?7 (or ?9 but I can't remember)

Can't imagine ever wanting to go on it, knowing them it will be full of anti hearts digs etc

This is a thing many clubs do in England. Always thought Hearts could tap into the tourism market.

Friends and myself have from time to time went to games at Chelsea, Man U, Liverpool & Wembley through travel companies that provide match tickets, tours, hotel ect and i don't see why Ann Budge can't tap into to a Hearts/ Edinburgh tourism market.
