DOF - time to step up to the plate

There's a lot of dead wood in that squad that has to be cleared out in January before Cathro can build. And it won't be cheap. Three year deals for Oshinawa and Sammon were crazy. Watt is a lost cause. That's 3 salaries that could be put to plugging big gaps in the side. But CL will need to man up and tell AB he got it wrong. That needs a big write off but it'll be money well spent getting shot of them. Having them hanging around the club for the next two years drawing a wage for using the gym facilities is unthinkable

Agreed. He needs to become a visible presence and take some responsibility. We have a young and inexperienced coach who undoubtably needs his support. He has signed a numbar of totally incompetent players and its now his job to get rid of them in the quickest and best manner possible for HMFC. Time to step up to the plate and earn his money indeed.

This model means we don't have the cathartic experience of a new manager clearing the decks - players, backroom staff and scouts.

The football department have the following strikers signed up - Johnson, Sammon, Watt, Juanma, Reilly, Muirhead and Zanatta. The last two are young players and Johnson looks promising. Overall a terrible group. But was Neilson solely responsible for signing such an awful group? Normally a new manager gets his own staff in. The cleansing process and renewal is a good thing. Seemingly not available to Cathro.
