The beer, designed once again by IRON MAIDEN vocalist and ale aficionado Bruce Dickinson together with Robinsons? Head Brewer Martyn Weeks, is a modern take on a recipe that dates back to the 1850?s; a time when porter style beer was becoming increasingly popular in Britain.

 

At 6.8% in bottle or 5.8% ABV in cask, TROOPER Red ?N? Black Porter is the first dark beer in the TROOPER ranks and the strongest beer in the range to date.

Got this gear a couple of years ago in Bath.

It's got the cover of the 12" record of the Trooper on the label. I'm no expert on ale but it tasted pretty good when freezing cold. Bought a few of them and liked them.

 

Edit - what a tune though. Pretty sure it's about the battle of Balaklava or the charge of the light brigade. One of the best live tunes I've ever seen. Bruce's voice is incredible.

It is the charge of the light brigade.

 

The Trooper is always introduced live by Bruce with the poem. Into the valley of death rode the 600.....

 

 

Trooper is my favourite beer. I think it's a stunning drink.

 

 

This new ale is named after the red n the black from the new album. Can't wait to give it a try.
