I've got 3 nights in Vegas coming up in a few weeks with the better half. Any suggestions or tips?

If you want to do gambling go Downtown, they also have this super long zip line thing that's pretty fun.  They recently covered over a very large portion of the entire outdoor area--I was there in the winter but I assume they'd have ways to cool it off in the summer, which is good since it gets over 40? in June in Vegas.

If you're just looking to be entertained and whatnot, then the Strip is where it's at, but you'll pay dearly for anything you decide to do in that area.

Where are you staying?

Would recommend the following restaurants which are all around city centre / south of strip.

Gordon Ramsey in Ceaser

All of them in the Cosmo

Chinese in Aria- can't recall name

Craftsteak in MGM

For a show, recommend Absynth

If doing helicopter to Canyon, recommend Maverick over Sundance

For the outlets if going shopping, go to the North

Ask for any upgrades at checkin and pop $20 in your passport, first gamble of the holiday.

will be there next week for 4 days (1st timer).

Doing a trip to the Grand Canyon, might also give the Supercars a whirl, time and funds permitting

Fremont Street

apart from that, wander the strip, see the usual sights and take in some rooftop bars.

If you're going in high summer take factor 50 and a hat.

Last time I was there I went late October, early November, and it was well into the high 80s.

Apparently you will get a cracking deal on crystal meth if you walk about a mile out from the strip to the suburbs.

Sounds barry

Spend a night in Downtown, more laid back and less pretentious than the strip

Agree with this, I've twice stayed at the Golden Nugget( they do great deals for added nights etc), 2 weeks both times, it's about three dollars by bus to the strip, right opposite Binions(Vegas history starts here)both do reasonable poker tournaments daily the GN has a water flume in it going through a shark tank ,ideal for the cool doon or sober up

Lol....was next to Debbie Harry on the sun beds one afternoon , got chatting away , loads of questions to be asked thinks me, bloody hell ,never asked one, all she wanted to talk about was Scotland and well, me on a sun bed is generally to sober up,so I obliged with a memorable one way HMFC and Scotland history lesson , my mates sitting at the pool bar couldn't believe how mesmerised she was and then couldn't believe when I explained what we were actually talking about.....yawn

I was there last August stayed at the nobu in Caesars which was absolutely brillant. The only thing was the heat during the day was unbearable to walk along the strip.

I went for four nights in Dec last year. Stayed in the Wynn with three friends. Got bored of gambling after about half an hour and got bored of Vegas after about two days once the initial mesmerising dazzle wore off. Can see why it appeals to people and I'm glad I've been but found it a cultureless money pit of unjustifiable expense.

I'm a bit like this. I don't gamble, so that side of Vegas holds no interest to me.

However, no matter how brash and tacky it is, it's well worth experiencing.

However, 3 nights is more than enough for me. I like to go back once in a while, just to see how it's changed.

You also have great hotels, restaurants, shows/gigs, shopping, attractions, etc all in one city and it definitely has something for everyone.

Definitely recommend seeing the Grand Canyon, and doing it in a helicopter

Gunstore is well worth a visit

Eateries: for something special the Eiffel Tower restaurant is great, for something really special Joel Rubochon (MGM) is triple Michelin star and you'll never have a meal quite like it

Most hotels do reasonable buffets as well. The Bellagio is probably the best one and is about 30 bucks.

I saw KA Cirque du Soleil at MGM it was decent.

Getting about, taxis are fairly reasonable. The strip is not massive but it takes frustratingly long to walk from one hotel to another as you cant just walk up the strip, Vegas is designed so you have to walk into all the hotels. Theres also a monorail which runs from MGM right up to the Stratosphere with a few stops on the way

I am a Vegas regular, at least I was, have missed a couple of trips this year so far. We enjoy it because we know where we are, we both like to play the machines and we are both walkers.  We are well past having been there done that, the usual touristy stuff. We just spend time in a Casino then move on, if things are going bad we walk around the Venetian, or Ceasars shopping areas. I enjoy particularly the Irish pub in New York, New York, I enjoy a Guiness, but the most important thing is the eclectic places that the other customers come from.  We are regular visitors and get some good comps and offers, our most frequent place to stay is the Bellagio, but because of high occupancies stayed at New York New York last time, not fantastic, but acceptable.

We sometimes take out a day pass forf the bus system, take a run to Fremont, or go the other way to the Outlet Stores, we ususally stay for five nights, but I find actually that fourth day long, but I do love the hot weather, and the pools at the hotels are usually very pleasant.

When I go,it's for the poker tour (not gambling lol) but for those who want to try ,there are all levels to elevate your professional ambitions where you will meet like minded people trying to get table time, for around 70 or 80 dollars you can have the pleasure of meeting the locals trying to win around 5 or 6 grand, granted it isn't everyone's cup of tea but it will give you the real Vegas for hopefully 5 hrs .. No1
