Great season on a whole and hopefully we can push on for next. I totally agree with that. The St J performance and result reminds me of a good mercantile league team I played for years ago. We were on top of the league and got beaten 4-1 by the side at the bottom. It just happens in football but it's extremely irritating.

Debut 4
Result aside, what pleased me was the way we kept our heads (in the end!) after a horror opening spell and played our way back in with plenty nerve and desire. You react to the conditions of the game. Aberdeen will go on about chances at 1-0 to kill the game but they can't be happy with the way they fell out the match. In turn, we can look at how we never finished with a more impressive scoreline but we can take great satisfaction from going on to outplay them and showing great resilience. OTT
I thought we had some great performances from the players tonight, especially Juanma, Souttar, Ozturk, Alexander, Walker, Kitchen and Djoum. It did feel like there was quite a lot of aimless punts which was a bit annoying since we look silky as **** when we play short quick passes. Something I think needs worked on as 9/10 we lose the ball when we try long range passing and aimless punts.
i wish jj was my dad
Proud of Mr Robbie and the boys. That took some guts. peter_hmfc
But we lost a cup game so it doesn't mean anything. Drewboy
No tinkerman slurs after another formation change? Strange that.[emoji23][emoji23] spot on!I was surprised to see Augustyn in the line up cos I thought after the St Johnstone game he would never play for us again. Probably more likely that the bug affected Smith and Paterson so RN had to change it. I'm sure there's good reason for most of the "tinker changes" week on week! It's weird how some fans can't give any credit to our management when we play like last night but are quick to hire planes when it doesn't go as well. Pathetic really! Gorgie_Rules
We seen out the game comfortably 5 at the back and 2 holding mids, credit to Robbie on that. If we were to lose a goal some on here would have been seething about that
naeclue
Not sure about that. Joe Tortolano played against us a few times. Good one. Gary Locke told a story about the ref Willie Young. When he was being spoken to by the ref Gary said "Willie, you're having a nightmare"" to which Willie replied " me having a nightmare? you're making Joe Tortolano look like Roberto Carlos!" RussAsia
I find it weird that some of the same posters who said that the performance in the St Johnstone game can't be used to criticise Neilson because the season is over are now saying that we can use this game to prove he has the ability to take us forward... I'm sure we can all agree that we hope for this kind of attitude from our team in all games.. However we had the same attitude in the cup game against Aberdeen then followed it up by 2 pitiful performances against Hibs in the cup followed by losses against the likes of St Johnstone and a bottom of the table Dundee United team.. In my opinion Robbie still has a lot to prove.. But games like last night (after the first 15 minutes) will hopefully show him the best way to approach all games.. My final point if Aberdeen had been 3 up (like they could have quite easily been) and they had closed out the game then there would have been a lot of complaints on here.. It shows the fine line managers walk..
