Sad news.  He had only just been back on TV with a new series which I really enjoyed.

A genuine broadcasting legend.

Sad news. He had only just been back on TV with a new series which I really enjoyed.

A genuine broadcasting legend.

Me too, also recently enjoyed watching his highlights of some of his favourite interviews from his old Wogan TV show. The one with Leslie Neilsen was hilarious.

His morning radio show was class - the John and Jane stories that him and his old pal Paul Walters were legendary.

Very sad news. RIP.

One of the very few entertainers from his era who stood the test of time. Watch the episodes of NMTB that he was either a guest or guest host on. Feckin hilarious, he had them in the palm of his hand.

Gentleman as well, RIP.

Grim reaper has been busy this month!

It always seems particularly bad at this time of year. Almost like people set making it through Christmas as a target, then...

RIP Terry

Cancer you monster

let go of my son,

We won't let you take him,

don't think you have won.

Thought you could sneak in

like a thief in the night,

Trample our spirit,

then take my child's life.

You started this battle

but we'll win this war,

We caught you red handed,

you'll live no more.

We fight you with chemo

it's making him ill,

Your time here is short,

its you this will kill.

With courage and faith

his fear he'll walk through,

There is no surrender,

just the death of you!

Get to a certain age and you start to be more aware of your own mortality. When you are young its like all your life stretches out before you but jees its goes so quick.

Liked Tel too :(

Didn't cover himself in glory with the CiN stuff though.

Nice chap but ripped-off CiN big time.     RIP anyway.

CIN is a disgrace anyways.

?90million property portfolio.

Invests in arms manufacturers.

Invests in tobacco firms.

Invests in alcohol firms.

Millions of liquid cash sitting in accounts.

Paying Wogan for appearing on the BBC show is the least worst thing it has done.

He didn't rip Children in Need off . Quite the opposite in fact.

The BBC paid him; his fee didn't come from from CiN funds. Yes he could have donated it, but chose to donate in other ways.

Must admit to being a bit disappointed to find he was the only sleb to accept payment; however if the directors of CiN ( and other children's charities) draw six figure salaries; what's wrong with paying Sir Tel. for presenting a show raising millions ?

For TW personally though, accepting/negotiating a fee isn't good.

He did.  When it was exposed that he was charging quarter of a mill to present, he claimed he was unaware he was being paid.   He said his accountants were mistakenly charging the BeeB without Tels knowledge.    Sorry not credible.

Anyway he did do a great job on Eurovision.

RIP. I'll always remember him take the greatest golf shot I've ever seen on pro celebrity golf.

Where was this, what was the club used, what was the course ?

No offence "Pal" but I reckon you are a grief chaser sucking at dead man's straws.

Hiya "pal".

It's been televised hundreds of times over the years but if you need to know, it was a putter At Gleneagles.

Just heard the news on the radio. Sad news, a major loss to broadcasting.

So the best golf shot you have ever seen was a putt ?

Get yourself to Port Royal (shut now) and watch some real golf shots.

I shall repeat - what was the hole - what was the putt- what was the hole score ?

I mean - if it was the 'greatest' golf shot you have ever seen - it would be ingrained on your mind - and you couldn't forget it.

Unless you are talking bull .....
