25th September

HYDC held our annual golf fundraising day at Turnhouse Golf Club. Twelve teams attended early for breakfast and were all delighted that the weather was good and the course was in fantastic condition.

The teams were joined by guests including Gordon Marshall, Dave McPherson, Michael Stewart, John Murray, David Bingham and Ian Little. HYDC would like to thank them all for supporting our event.

Once the golf started there were a number of opportunities to win prizes throughout the day including a Honda Jazz (Supplied by Honda Edinburgh West) for a hole in one on the 5th hole. The golfer closest to the hole but not close enough was former Hearts goalkeeper Gordon Marshall.

The scoring throughout the day was very good and really competitive with a number of teams threatening the top of the leader board.

HYDC were delighted to be joined by Director of Football Craig Levein to help Chairman Calum Robertson carry out the prize giving after a delicious lunch.

The winner of the Nearest the Pin prize on the 9th hole was Dick Campbell (Not the Forfar Manager)

The longest drive on the 18th hole was won by Graeme Miller.

The runners-up who had the same score as the winners but lost out by a count back were the team representing Haines Watt and joined by guest player Gordon Marshall.

The winning team were representing The HF Group. Congratulations to all the winners from everyone at HYDC and The Hearts Academy.

HYDC would like to thank all the catering staff at Turnhouse led by Graeme Pacitti, all the Turnhouse green keeping staff, team sponsors, guest players and Craig Levein for helping ensure we had a very successful and enjoyable day.
