I'd like to be cremated and have the Countdown music played as the coffin goes into the fire. It'd be quality, especially if the "ding" at the end could be made to coincide perfectly with me hitting the fire.

Other than that, probably "I Will Survive" or "Staying Alive".

Already in my will, and disk as well. It will be the live version of Smoke on the water by Deep Purple, from the Made in Japan album.

Has been discussed in the pub many times,

Being a proper dance fan it's gonna have to be:

1) Tony de Vit - The Dawn (Original Trade Mix) <- Favourite tune of all time...ever.

2) Heavens Cry - 'Til Tears Do Us Part

3) U2 - Where The Streets Have No Name <-if im forced to play something 'normal'

None of this funeral march / make people cry malarkey for me thank you very much

I would suggest that you learn how to spell Lynyrd Skynyrd before you pop yer clogs!

I was at a mates funeral recently and he went to the strains of "Rock n roll damnation" by AC/DC! Thought that an excellent choice. However it goes without saying I rather he was still around and I hadn't heard it yet!

Another mate down south had "the overture" from 2112 by Rush playing when he came into the crematorium. Interesting to see who the rock fans were at the service as you saw very restrained heads bobbing up and down trying not to be noticed!

A small knack-up, thank you for drawing that to my attention! Consider my hand well and truely slopped.

Would have to make an entrance of some sort, Ride of the Valkyries or something....

Other than that...Teenage Kicks, Eva Cassidy's Songbird and no funeral is complete without some Manilow....Can't Smile Without You or maybe Copacabana....Ooh, and Counting Crows Mr Jones...and Buddy Holly's Everyday. It would be a cheery affair.

And if I die young, I want it noted that everyone who attends must wear a Hearts scarf and sing the Hearts song, complete with solos from my dad & brother cos they're hobos. :cheese:

Enjoy Yourself (its later than you think), Prince Buster version or the Specials, I guess I won't be too fussy by then.

Autobahn - Kraftwerk, the 21 minute version, always did like to keep people hanging around waiting

Well here it is , my time has come

Won't be long I'll be moving on

I can't complain, I've had my day

Now I'll be on my way

And all the good times that we've Had

Much more good than bad

What more can I say?

Now I'll be on my way

Don't be sad now when I'm gone

Take your time while you're still Young

In the warm sunshine make hay

Now I'll be on my way

Where I'm going , I don't know

But I'm heading off in sun Rain hail or snow

In the yard I hear the children play

Now I'll be on my way

I have no fear of what's to come

My faith in better days is strong

Somewhere warm and safe to stay

Now I'll be on my way

You might think you need my love

But I can't give you half enough

You deserve the warmest purest Rays

Now I'll be on my way

Slan leat anois mo stor

There's no need to see me to me door

We'll meet again I hope and pray

Now I'll be on my way

We'll meet again I hope and pray

Now I'll be on my way

Instructions for my funeral,

1- Don't go wasting my money on an expensive box that is about to go up in flames. You can stick me in a paper bag for all I'll care.

2- Everyone must sing Abide with me with gusto. I'll be watching from Heaven/Hell and anyone not giving it big licks is getting haunted.

3- I don't give a monkeys ass whether permission is granted or not, I want my ashes scattered on the slopes of Tynecastle Park.

All pretty moot though as i feel particularly omnipotent today.:)

Like a previous poster I would have,

meet on the ledge by fairport convention.

Also another of theirs sang by sandy denny would be who knows where the time goes. There wouldn't be a dry eye in the place (I hope).

I'd probably go for Dick Gaughan's version of Now Westlin Winds or Kingdom Come Sunrise.

However in the case of me dying in a car accident it would have to be the classic

Nervous Norvus - Transfusion

ZZZZZZOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM

Tooling down the highway doing 79

I'm a twin pipe papa and I'm feelin' fine

Hey man, dig that was that a red stop sign-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

I'm just a solid mess of contusions

Never never never gonna speed again

Slip the blood to me, Bud

I jump in my rod about a quarter to nine

I gotta make a date with that chick of mine

I cross the center line, man, you gotta make time-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

Oh man, I got the cotton pickin' convolutions

Never never never gonna speed again

Shoot the juice to me, Bruce

My foot's on the throttle and it's made of lead

But I'm a fast ridding daddy with a real cool head

I'ma gonna pass a truck on the hill ahead-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

My red corpsuckles (sic) are in mass confusion

Never never never gonna speed again

Pass the crimson to me, Jimson

I took a little drink and I'm feelin' right

I can fly right over everything everything in sight

There's a slow poking cat I'm gonna pass him on the right-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

I'm a real gone paleface and that's no illusion

I'ma never never never gonna speed again

Pass the claret to me, Barrett

A rollin' down the mountain on a rainy day

Oh, when you see me coming, better start to pray

I'ma cuttin' up the road and I'm the boss all the way-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

Oh, doc pardon me for this crazy intrusion

I'm never never never gonna speed again

Pump the fluid in me, Louie

I'm burning up the highway early this morn

I'm passing everybody, oh, nothing but corn

Man, outta my way, I don't drive with my horn-

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Transfusion, transfusion

Oh, nurse, I'm gonna make a new resolution

I'm never never never gonna speed again

Put a gallon in me, Alan

Oh, barnyard drivers are found in two classes

Line crowding hogs and speeding jackasses

So remember to slow down today

Hey, daddy-o

Make that type O, huh

Atta-boy

(scrreeech-BANG!!tinkle)

Here is transfusion in all it's splendour - banned on release because of its rather graphic lyrics and slightly sick message.

If we're having sandy Denny playing I would definitely opt for Full Moon, from the Who Knows box set.

With Acker Bilk (yes, Acker Bilk) on clarinet it is a surprisingly beautiful and tasteful coda to her sadly short life.

It would make a nice contrast to transfusion

:)
