fabienleclerq
Seen this advertised on channel four, im not a fan of ukip but think with a general election coming up this seems a bit unfair. It seems a quite obvious attempt to discredit them and influence the voters. Is it a case of the other parties running scared and using their influence on the media? Apparently a few complaints already and its not been aired yet. http://www.theguardian.com/media/2015/feb/16/channel-4-ukip-film-complaints-nigel-farage Thoughts? Channel 4 is the left wing broadcaster of the UK. This was always going to be a bit of a send up and it's certainly showing them up. The stuff about Bloom etc is pretty much spot on and they deserve being attacked for it.
Chester™
If UKIP want to be taken 'seriously', then they'll have to, quite simply, deal with it.
neave
The BBC have been giving UKIP far too much air time compared to other non-majority parties, IMO. It's not unfair to broadcast something that isn't at the very least neutral to the party and its policies. On a more partisan note: **** UKIP. JamboX2
Did you see Benefit Street at all?!?!?! Have you watched Channel 4 News and Dispatches? Channel 4 broadcasts a fair amount of dross. Undateables, Body Clinic etc. But it's news and current affairs are generally to the left of say Sky, the BBC and ITV/STV. Benefits Street was a dreadful show. But it's news and serious journalism is better than most and is editorially to the left.

TheMaganator
They are a nasty little party and all this exposure they're getting is great. Ask them the hard questions - pull them up on their loony views and they'll start to lose their soft support. Hopefully c4 do a show on the greens next. I reckon the lights would go off at day 66. JamboX2
It is European law that is protecting tax schemes! The idea of banking union and the immediate ECB reaction on hedgefunds during the crash was a major cause of George Osbourne to reject joining banking union and turn down the talks on a Robin Hood or Tobin tax with the French and Germans. It is EU law that allows Amazon, for example, to register itself in Luxembourg and pay pittance for its taxes.

redm
The media has created UKIP. Exactly. They need to take the rough with the smooth. I'm sure it wasn't necessarily their intention but C4 are merely balancing out the endless sucking up they get from the Beeb. To be fair, their supporters are highly unlikely to be watching Channel 4. They're also highly unlikely to 'get it' anyway and even if they did watch they're probably sitting wondering what the fuss is all about. The 19 that were told to be furious about the whole thing have managed to figure out how to email Ofcom.
Mr Sifter
Whether or not you like UKIP is neither here nor there...aren't there meant to be rules against such programmes within a general election year? I recall countless radio presenters shying away from politics because OFCOM rules stated they weren't allowed to influence voters. I'm surprised that C4 have managed to get away with this to be honest.
