Uberjambo
Anyone have any idea when the fixtures are announced for this? I am keen to be ready to book travel etc for the trips to Cardiff and Dublin before it gets too expensive..

Homme
The fixtures for 2014 and 2015 competitions were announced in April 2013, so there's a fair chance it'll be around the same time this year.

DETTY29
What's Scotland's chances this year? Wooden spoon is it? It's really hard to say. Looking to have more of a cutting edge. Problem in past when we played teams, especially at home where it is tight that we would drop the ball on the try line. With 3 games at home we should beat Italy now and do better against Wales and Ireland and maybe sneak wins. England have 12 injuries going in to the first game so it is a shame we don't have them up first instead of France in Paris. The optimists in the game think we can get 3 wins (Andy Nicol/) and if you do, you are in with a shout of the Championship with a bit of luck. I'm not so sure. reaths17
8 players carring an injury, 2 definately missing the 1st game, denton who's been great for edinburgh and maitland, we dont have the depth of the other teams so it might be another slog for us. full squad of fit players we might've had a chance. PictWarrior
First weekend about to kick off. What are Scotland's chances, not a bad squad and strong looking team for first game against France. Interesting to see Beattie starting at 8, originally having not even made the initial squad. France are always unpredictable, even more so this year with a new look squad. Wales have had a hit and miss Autumn series, however I think they will be much better. England looking good with some newer faces, think themselves or Ireland will be up there come the end. Ireland had a few injuries and almost didn't pick a few of their regulars. Italy well.. are Italy. New NZ born 10, interesting to see what he is like. Jamhammer
I've got tickets for the Scotland v Wales game. Never been before. I'm Welsh and Mrs JH Sots so could be fiery. Find it hard being at a sporting event and not shouting stuff about the other team but understand this isn't the done thing. I think we'll know a wee bit more about Wales chances after tomorrow night.
Terry Tate
Three predictions from me. Wales will win the championship, Scotland will put in a good performance in Paris then fade badly in following matches due to lack of squad depth, someone will take time out of their day to appear on this thread shortly to declare they don't care about rugby, it's for arseholes. Friday night's game should be interesting, England really struggling with injuries and a Wales team that picks its self.
Dusk_Till_Dawn
Come on England. Wales will probably win the 6 Nations though.

Locky
I watch the 6 nations but don't know much about rugby at all. My mate who's a big rugby fan and an Englishman at that says he reckons Scotland have a chance this year given the fixtures so a wee tenner might get lumped on. According to him, Wales have left a couple of key players out, England have too many injuries, France are in a transitional period and Ireland's squad is all a bit aged. And Italy, are just Italy. studo
I'd say its between England and Ireland, both were strong in Autumn and have decent squad.England have a lot of injuries though. Wales team looks very strong but struggled to play well of late. Scotland probably favourite for 4th spot if they can play well, tough away games and wouldnt fancy them at home against Ireland. France going through a bad phase and also flakey, Italy are Italy so last spot..unless they can do well against the french

Jamhammer
It won't be fiery mate, it's an absolute banter fest in the build up in the pubs before & after the game. I normally come home from Wales with my Welsh missus to visit my parents about this time, and we've gone to the last two games at Murrayfield. Despite us losing, it's always been a great day out in Edinburgh I've found. Just the same when I've been out in Cardiff when we're down here in Wales. Wish I was going now. We go down to Cardiff and Caerphilly every Feb for a lads weekend and watch games in the pubs. Never any bother. It just seems weird not abusing the other team Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Old Tolbooth
Fancy Scotland for a top 3 finish this season, can't see us winning it though, it's a step too far, but they're definitely going in the right direction. Jambomuzz
Really enjoy the six nations! For years Scotland seem to have been the nearly team for me. Couple matches that could have easily been won and put them in with a title shout been snatched away at the last minuite. If scotland can put that ball down in the try area and have the same sort of defence that has won them lots of plaudits over the years then they stand a really good chance of picking up a few wins. 269miles
I'm going to get abuse for this probably, but I don't mind if England win tonight. Living in Wales, I've noticed more and more every year it's actually got to the stage where a lot of arrogance seems to be prevelant in the Welsh media and the fans. Living very close to Wales - and having a lot of Welsh acquaintancies - very much this. Never heard a peep out of them when they went years getting stuffed and now they are the most arrogant of winners. Hope England stuff them and then I'll nip out for a pint to see their sad faces. And just to spice it up , for those who have never experienced it, on nights like this the English really, really hate the Welsh.
Harry Palmer
Glad the whining arsehole isn't summarising, no doubt he'll be sticking his beak in from the studio position/thing. Will it still take 5mins just to play a scrum?

All roads lead to Gorgie
This and because we're shit is why I stopped liking rugby. Plus it's no cheap to go along to Murrayfield and sit in silence while we make basic errors all over the place. It almost like the Scottish crowd are so polite they don't want to sing in case they offend whist all the other nations fans ( even the English) just let themselves go and that's what makes the six nations. If Scotland would just cut out the nervous mistakes which have dogged them for so long we have the makings of team at long last. However we say that every year and fall flat on our faces. All roads lead to Gorgie
England defensive line-speed won that. Touch and go if they were onside but Wales had no time to do anything and were smothered by their opponents. If Scotland don't stand off Wales and follow England's example by getting right in their faces we have a chance.
