Oscar

He's been horrible tonight. One of those games when nothing goes right.

He started off really well

He seemed to get really greedy all of a sudden too.   A recurring theme this game tbh

Think he's had a poor game tbh.

Ineffective, greedy and wasteful in good areas. Better than Fabregas though.

Morgaro Gomis

Both teams have settled for 0-0 now.

Dunno why liverpool would, that would put them out.

Excellent game with one of the worst refereeing performances I've seen in some time.

This guy is the Willie Collum of the English League.

It goes to extra time.

Id forgotten that, but even still if they don't score - they're out.

Ruining the game isn't a reason for not sending a player off.

Do you reckon Diego Costa was born an absolute prick or did something terrible happen to him in his childhood that turned him into an absolute prick?

Prick

Costa may be a very good player but how he is still on the park is a mystery.

One of a number of poor refereeing decisions tonight in what has been another excellent match between these two sides.

Costa was no worse than Gerrard in that last tussle. It's a man's game after all.

They probably deserve it. Glad to see Liverpool knocked out as well.

Tonight we've seen just how much of a prick Diego Costa is and how bad the refereeing is sometimes in England.

Sad to say that Balotelli looks a long way short of the way he played when he was younger. He looks slow, immobile and doesn't look interested. Combine that with the fact that he looks like he might do something mental at any moment. Used to really like him as a player but he looks a shadow of his former self.

There is no way Costa won't get punished after this game.

Should be seven games out, 3 for red for the first stamp and four for the red for the second stamp . Will the FA have the guts to do it though?

Balotelli's shit signing of the season, hands down.

He was a gamble that's failed spectacularly.

Wonder where he'll go once he's been emptied by Liverpool.

Given the Chelsea goalkeeper has been man of the match in both games I'm not so sure they deserve it.

The first leg should have resulted in a 2 goal lead for Liverpool instead of a draw but that is Chelsea for you.. hard to beat when playing their first choice team and they strangled the life out of the match in the second half and beyond.

The referee was poor and both sides could and should have ended up with reduced numbers by the end of the match....but Costa was way out of order in his stamping of 2 players.. was this referee scared to send him off because of the hype raised by Jose ?

Two great matches between the sides and those watching were well entertained.

Turkey is normally the destination of choice for underachievers.

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Either of Fenerbhace or Galatasaray like Anelka.

The Old Tolbooth

At the end of the day, you gotta take your chances, Liverpool had a ton of possession and chances in the first leg and had they taken any sort of lead into tonight's game then I think they would have went through, tonight they were never going to have the same amount of possession, but they had some outrageous chances, and normally a Liverpool side would take one or two of them, it just shows how woefully short Liverpool are up front with some utter dross, and without Sturridge they're pretty ineffective really, even though then rest of the team is playing quite well.

I seriously hope Spurs get through just to make it a watchable final now, because if Liverpool had made it to the final, they'd probably play better against Spurs than Sheff Utd, such is the way Liverpool are!

Funny enough, Olympiakos wanted him on loan for the rest of the season, it fell through though. Napoli were mentioned too.

Lambert's up there, talk about immobile, ha!

Yeah, but at least he cost peanuts. Gamble worth taking in that case.

Whilst Anelka had more clubs than Tom Watson near the 'end' of his career he contributed way more and achieved a huge amount more than Balotelli looks likely to.

2 EPL titles, 3 FA cups, 1 Serie A, 1 Turkish Super Lig, 1 Champions League, 1 Intertoto (haha). Additionally he won the European Championships with France collecting nearly 70 caps and scoring 14 goals. He was also voted into 2 PFA teams of the year scoring more than 100 EPL goals. Balotelli gets nowhere near.
