jamdunc
Edinburgh Rugby on just now, with English commentary on the red button. Are they planning to do this for the football too?
Jambof3tornado
They have always done this with the rugby I believe.

Terry Tate
This is the first year they've done it on BBC alba but has been an option on Welsh channel for few years. Think it's more to do with licensing than anything else so doesn't necessarily follow that football will follow. Given the incompetence of our governing body I can't imagine the license is very expensive but would also guess that they won't enable something that benefits a wider audience either. bobjay
I thought it had to do with the fact that BBC Scotland are obligated to produce a certain number of hours of Gaelic programming. If they have commentaries in English they can't count the programme in the Gaelic quota. Using the red button feature would be a way round this
Francis Albert
I always find the Gaelic commentary much less objectionable than the usual English commentary.
Helzibob
I always find the Gaelic commentary much less objectionable than the usual English commentary. This. At least when they're talking in Gaelic we don't know what drivel they are spouting.
luckydug
I like BBC Alba it saves me having to turn down the drivel that the English speaking commentators spout.
BRAVEHEART1874
I suppose we could always put it back to Gaelic when some chump like Davy proven or soon to be McCoist are commentating
colinmaroon
I always find the Gaelic commentary much less objectionable than the usual English commentary. Add a "very" before "much" and I'll agree with you! I wish there was a red button on BT Sport when Owen's commentating so that I could turn to the Gaelic. PS Don't speak a word of the language. richiehmfc
I agree with others, I prefer the alba commentary as it irritates me less than most of the commentators

Doc Rob
It is bloody ridiculous that if you want to watch Pro12 rugby on TV in the UK - remember that's where Scottish, Welsh and Irish clubs play - your choices are a Welsh language channel or a Gaelic language channel.
