historydave
Came across this in the archives: Saturday, 23rd September, 1950. THE LAMENT OF THE HIBS. This is the tale of the mighty Hibs Until this week 11 big nibs But now they have found they?re ower auld Tae match their skill wi Willie Bauld. At 3 p.m. the air was tense The battle then was to commence Bauld kicked off the game was started And Hearts soon had the Hibs outsmarted. Gordon Smith was in a frenzie So calmly kicked big Tam Mackenzie Then half-time came without a score Though Hearts kept pressing more and more. The boys trooped out into the rain And Reilly kicked off once again The Hibs were very soon upset To see that fitba? in the net Tommy Sloan had scored a goal And Hibs were really up the pole The same old story comes and goes For Hibs and their immortal foes. GORDON SMITHS GOT A CAULD HE THINKS IT?S INFLUENEZIE ITS NO? A CAULD SAYS WILLIE BAULD ITS LIKELY TAM McKENZIE.
