The Gasman
The Express has to be the worst for horrendous scaremongering over long range forecasts (weeks / months) and getting it spectacularly consistently wrong.
Muppetboy
Surely the record wouldn't go to press unless they had concrete proof? That's just unprofessional, which to be fair we have come to expect from them
Ray Gin
The MetOffice, who they claim are the source, have this forecast on their website: UK Outlook for Saturday 20 Dec 2014 to Monday 29 Dec 2014: Sunny spells and showers on Saturday. Showers most frequent and heaviest over northern and western areas, whilst southeastern parts remain largely dry, and wintry over hills as far south as north Wales; and perhaps to lower levels in the north. Remaining windy with gales in exposure. Showers and winds will gradually ease overnight, with a fine day likely on Sunday in the south and east. However, cloud, rain and milder conditions will spread into northwestern parts and gradually push southeast into Monday with showery weather following. Remaining changeable thereafter, with Atlantic weather fronts bringing spells of cloud and rain across the country, together with further colder, showery interludes in between weather systems. Temperatures will therefore vary day by day, although averaging out to be near or just below normal.

CJGJ
The Mail and the Daily Express are consistently the worst two papers for made up weather stories. You can run a book that at least 2 days out of 7 in the winter months there will be a panic weather related story as a headline

Dagger Is Back
Absolute pish. Add the Express and Daily Mail to the growing lust of this country's pish media. They're all literary whores who will print any old crap to create a frenzy and sell papers.
Paolo
I think all media is bad for this. Even the Met Office has criticised the media, as they fear their unnecessary scaremongering will mean, when genuine warnings are issued, people will not tKe them seriously.
