dc-jambo
Nice to see confirmation how we were ramming them in, back in the "good old days". 10,000 at home to Dundee Utd and 12,000 at home to Aberdeen, after being unbeaten all season and top of the league ... Jambos_1874
64-65 some of the home crowds were shocking considering the league position Good to see Hearts are bucking the trend of long-term decline in Scottish football attendance. Just shows that the fanbase is there.

Francis Albert
An 18 club league and a non-dominant OF (as illustrated by that season when Hearts and Kilmarnock fought it out for the title and Dundee's title win in 1962 - 4 non-OF champions in 8 seasons). The only season EVER that BOTH the OF finished outside top 4.
Bazzas right boot
That was the days of sneaking in as well then, My Dad said that him and his 3 brothers hardly ever paid for a game when they were kids. Quite the Norm back then just to throw kids over the turnstiles.

Quite the Norm back then just to throw kids over the turnstiles. To be fair an U-12 ST recently (not sure what it was this season) hasn't cost much more than getting a lift over the turnstile. Francis Albert
?45 for my sons season ticket this season.OK not quite the gift it was at ?12 a go. Still, not too bad at ?2.50 a game. I'd now pay that rather than risk a back injury by lifting someone over!

I could certainly now still recognise and name those teams more readily than I could do the same for today's team.

I could certainly now still recognise and name those teams more readily than I could do the same for today's team. At this moment, in my mind's eye, I'm standing behind the goal at Firhill and, the ball comes over Willie Wallace's right shoulder and he thunders a volley into the roof of the net from 15 yards. PS A "youth" played on the right wing in that game, I'm sure - Donald Ford!

And as I read that I remember that classic Willie Wallace technique - I must have seen him try that volley of a ball coming over his right shoulder a hundred times and tried to imitate it at least as often. It didn't come off that often for him (and never for me!) but what joy to watch him try it.
