In the last 5 elections I have voted Lib Dem in Edinburgh West to prevent the Tories regaining a foothold in our area, however I am horrified at how they have behaved in going into coalition. I do not know how I will vote in may 2015, but it will tactical to prevent the Tories having any chance in my area.

So in kickback terms we are either a haven for Nats or the Scottish Government is still relatively popular in comparison with the London parties .

Also the fact that for admittedly too long, Labour had it easy in Scotland. Now there is real opposition they have to learn to deal with it. In that regards, I think the referendum has been good for Scottish Labour. They should be invigorated. I just wish they could attract better quality in the front line especially in the figure of a leader. The intervention of Westminster Scots has shown the disparancy between London and the third raters up here. But then, that can be said of the entire Holyrood establishment.

Labour is second in Edinburgh West for Westminster have been since 2010.

SNP won the same seat in 2011 for Holyrood.

Tories pose little threat there now.

Now that it looks more and more like a No vote, I think that the referendum has galvanised Scottish Labour which did need a good kick in the arse admittedly. Hopefully after the SNP's Night of Long Claymores after the blame game is played out, Labour will sweep the lot of them out of the Scottish Parliament in 2016 or earlier. I have some vain hopes that the SNP will do the decent thing for once and hold an election sooner than that as they are going to be incapable of 'running' the country whilst they are all (hopefully) at each others throats. Will that be fun to watch or what.

The Labour Party gave us:

The NHS

Unions

Council Housing

Free school meals

Minimum Wage etc etc.

The SNP gave us:

Answers here if you have any.

How long did the labour party have to implement that vs the time SNP have had?

No Scottish Socialist Party?

Uly usually does a good poll and is generally a voice of reason.

If it was Uly who made up the poll and put those UKIP arseholes a option while omitting any Socialist Party,it kinda loses any cred with me.....so i'm not voting....so there!

If labour dressed a chimp in a suit and stuck a red badge on it, then people in the central belt of Scotland would vote for it, because, well you know, .

Does the same theory apply for the many who will vote for the SNP this week because of patriotism more than anything else?

Considering Trade unions predate labour I'll leave that one.

Say, 20-30 years to implement that list. First Labour government, 1924-25. Notable achievement, social housing in the Wheatley Act. Wheatley being a Scot. So between then and 1951. If we just put it down to when they governed as Labour, 7-9 years.

1924/5, 1929/31 and 1945-51. 9 years. 2 years for the SNP to go then.

It's noteworthy that this poll has relatively little interest compared to the other poll.

quite a bit of uncertainty about what will happen after Independence Yes vote if that happens

This poll will close in or around 90 minutes from now.

What's the reason for collecting voting intention data of all your members out of interest?

What's the purpose of the data moving forward and how will it be stored?
