Say What Again
Escape to Victory, for me What? No 'A Shot At Glory' starring the leg-end?
JamboJay
Field of Dreams and Bull Durham. I would go for "Bull Durham" then "Field of Dreams" Bull Durham was made by Ron Shelton whose love for the sport shines through. I'm not really a basebal fan, but when I do catch it I always seem to look out for the Crash Davies and Calvin 'Nuke' Laloosh characters. Never seem to come across a 'Annie Savoy' though The script, a bit wordy but very poetic, and the cinematography comes over as very evocative of that part of the states. Oh and I nearly forgot, Susan Sarandon

Andy.C
On a serious note it has to be Raging Bull because it is one of the finest movies ever made. On a silly note, Rocky or Cool Runnings have to be up there!
Jambojohnnyboy
probably not the best but Shaolin Soccer should get a mention.
Oxford City
Raging Bull, or This Sporting Life with an extraordinary performance by Richard Harris as a rugby league player which is as good as Marlon Brando in its depiction of rage, frustration and inarticulacy. A very depressing film but fantastic. And Shaolin Soccer is very funny. Honourable mention to Gregory's Girl (it's good, it's modern).
