Would have thought it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth if he then wasn't appointed as vice captain. Granted he may not get as many games as others though, so if the players feel someone who will play more regularly would be a better choice then that's totally fair enough. Alexander is a good shout. Wilson and Alexander are almost certs to be in that list. Gomis and McKay as the others?
