fabienleclerq Posted October 31, 2013 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Obviously we were all over the joint the first 20 minutes but we still didn't resort to pumping it high and long. I thought Robinson in particular tried to get his foot on the ball, McGhee looks to have a good passing range and at times we played our way out much better than recently. I thought paterson's energy and engine were fantastic last night and his flick ons had someone else (stevo) chasing them for a change. Stevo was class, especially at noising up defenders, getting his body in the way and holding things up. Pleasing. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jambo-rocker Posted October 31, 2013 Share Posted October 31, 2013 Yeah, I wasn't sure about our original 4-4-2 formation but the change up certainly helped. We were playing to our strengths once we moved things around. Paterson was wide right, Stevenson was through the middle, and unlike the latter is good at holding the ball up. Holt was floating nicely but Robinson was five yards ahead of Hamill and able to support him this time. It was a refreshing change that's been coming. Hopefully we can kick on from here.
