Can't find much evidence to suggest that electronic spider repellants actually work.

There are a few solutions on the internet - seems like lavender oil is a common choice...

I found a second solution, however, spider-haters might find the solution to be as unpleasant as the problem (you have been warned!)... :P

From the above article:

They are creapy, crawly and give most of us the chills! We find them in those Unexpected and undesired places in our homes. Around the cars. In the Attic. On the Boat even! So how do we help them decide that where we are, is NOT where they want them to be?

Oh yes the boat! Boy I hate it when those pesky spiders get on my Yacht!

Sounds like the rankest thing to spray around your house. Never mind the blender!

Well we know spiders are afriad of water, maybe a moat round your house is the way to go! I really can't stand them and this is the time of year when they get bigger as well. Also the common house spider, the small black one, seems to be long gone (at least in my flat) and been replaced by the big spindly one. Even the babies are quite large in size.
