They have a couple of new tracks but they sound nothing like Acid Reign any more IMO, just generic metal and a bit uninspired

But the new ones just aren't acid reign imo. We'll have crossed paths by the way, probably on our way to the bar, I used to love the moshpit! To see bands like Xentrix, Napalm Death, Slammer, Bomb Disneyland or even the Beyond or our own Dunderfunk in such an intimate venue, man we were lucky! Thankfully I fulfilled my ambition of playing there many years later. Everyone spit on Kev!

I've still got the brick cat at my mum's and I still love the beyond, even liked Gorilla too. I've got a tape the Beyond sent out to their mailing list before Crawl came out, it was a finished take of Day Before Tomorrow IIRC , and even still got a couple of mailshots they sent out. Also all at my mum's of course Mind Australian Dunderfunk?

maroonlegions
Was going to start a thread on the following but i will add it here. For those that like musical documentaries in general this one is a peach. Any avid Killing Joke fan will probably have watched this and no doubt like me would have gained a more in-depth insight into what this band are really about. From them first getting together, their skint days and they still are , the fact that Jaz,(singer) and Paul,(drummer), shared a common interest in the occult and this was to manifest in most of their songs and also up to their present album named ,PYLON" Jaz a classically trained violinist and who has written and composed classical music and once with the London symphony orchestra and also gained permission from the Egyptian government to perform one of his symphonies in the Great Pyramid in Gaza. This documentary also gives an insight into my interests and views on the state of this world, Killing Joke have always written songs about social decay and the world to come. Ladies and gentlemen the "Death and Resurrection Show". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1cCMBBBbqw

OmiyaHearts
Two albums I've been looking forward to and have listened to today. First The Charlatans, Different Days. I'm a huge Charlatans fan and after hearing Plastic Machinery I had high hopes for the album. First impressions aren't great, it's not doing it for me. Secondly. Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver. This is a work of art imo. On my second listen today and the psychedelic distorted sounds are just wonderful. Highly recommended! I really hope The Charlatans album grows on me. I adore them and will be pretty upset if it's as poor as it sounds initially. I'd also recommend Cut The Master by Sundowners. Seems everything released on Skeleton Key label is of a very high standard.

maroonlegions
All the proceeds from the track go to food banks and to the People's Assembly, so let's buy it and make sure it goes to #1 for next weekend. See if the radio stations still refuse to play it. Edited May 29, 2017 by maroonlegions

Seen them on saturday and they were their usual brilliant selfs it was just a pity most of the crowd were there for The Courteeners though as they never got the 100% attention from the yoinger attendees. maroonlegions
Lyrics Come inside boy, they call this fun! (Music to please the adolescent) Taking the easy way out again Part of the process, same old story Follow the leader (look at the leader) You just condone all that you mean Play time doesn't last forever Shouting about it taking the bait Walking again in the same direction Follow the leader (look at the leader) Time moves on and then you notice The ground starts to tremble beneath your feet Man killed man and blood was shed (yawn!) And the gasps of relief at human nature like Follow the leader (look at the leader) Edited June 16, 2017 by maroonlegions
maroonlegions
Lyrics Back to square one, and the old school backfireIt's just begun, let's watch the blind eyes turning Stains on the wall, been waiting far too long nowNice day, blue sky, I watch them shrug their shoulders Tighten the grip (getting tighter)Now see the ball is rolling We take delight, it's been a long wait for this moment Back to square one, another empire backfireBack to square one, another empire backfire SIgn of the time, blood pressure running high nowNowhere to dance, which channel can you turn to? We take delight, we watch them shrug their shouldersLet's take delight, it's been a long wait for this moment. Back to square one (now it's my turn)Another Empire backfire Back to square one (now it's your turn)And the old school backfire...
