I note that the article from 99 years ago refers to the wee team being called Hibernians. Were they ever officially named with the "s" in their name at any point in their history, including before and after they went bust in 1891?

Not sure about Officially but newspaper reports had the 's' for a long time as well as 'Mid-Lothian'
