Which Class Are You, Old Chap?

Result: the class group you most closely match is:

Established middle class

This is the most gregarious and the second wealthiest of all the class groups. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

  • Enjoy a diverse range of cultural activities
  • Went to university
  • Are comfortably off, secure and established

:verysmug:

Didn't go to Uni though. Self made man.

I did this, this morning, and found out I am apparently "Established Middle Class".

I don't hold too much stock in this, to be honest.

BoJack Horseman

Emergent service worker.

This class group is financially insecure, scoring low for savings and house value, but high for social and cultural factors. According to the Great British Class Survey results, lots of people in this group:

Are young

Enjoy a cultured social life

Rent their home - almost 90%

Sounds about right.

Though my answers completely contradict the summary of what typifies that class!

Shanks said no

Established middle class

although I don't see how that can be the case, making me feel old if that's right, a bit like my parents!

That's what happens when you spend every penny you earn and don't have a mortgage. Better than being at the bottom.

The bullet points are true (apart from being 'established')...

Apparently Established Middle Class, load of bollocks tbh

All it takes in that quiz is to earn ?25,001 a year (2k less than the average in Edinburgh), have a mortgage of ?125,001 (Can get you an old 2 bed flat just outside the city centre), have savings of a quid, know folk doing a variety of different jobs and sometimes go to the theatre!

Turns out I am in the class group called "Emergent Service Workers" reading it equates to scum class with varied social life or something like that, based on this class most people are:

  • Young
  • Enjoy a cultured social life
  • Rent their home - almost 90%

Told me I was Elite also, the test's clearly flawed.

I'd imagine someone from the real elite might have more than about 52p left in their bank account by the end of the month!

I am young, cultured, a renter and financially insecure. Sounds about right.

If my postie pal has cost me to be elite then I won't be amused.

One doesn't need the bloody British Broadcasting Corporation to tell me what class I am, old boy. One went to George Watson's College, One is of course, elite.

Socialising with postal workers, One wouldn't so much as recognise a postal worker.

One is looking forward to visiting the Opera tonight.

'Middle class' is just poor person speak for 'slightly above the poverty line'.

Fnarr Fnarr.

Class systems are for wankers. Iv not looked at the survey but with my income last year and the fact I own a house I'd probably be doing alright. This would be utter shite though as I live in broomtoon.
