Thought the boys did very well tonight. A joy to watch quick one touch football. Beautiful goal from Gordon Smith and some good individual performances. Killie physio bang tidy as well!

Decent performance tonight. Hearts maybe should have won it on their second half performance, but in saying that Ridgers had a couple of great saves from Jude Winchester in the last 5 minutes when Killie were down to 10 men.

The first half was fairly even, although Killie looked a bit sharper in the final third. Gordon Smith missed a good chance early on but was denied by a good block by the keeper.

Killie's goal was well taken as Fisher played the ball in from the right to Davidson who swiveled and shot in one movement and his strike across the face of goal left Ridgers with no chance.

The other interesting duel in the first half was between two of the overage players Stevo and Ibrahim who had a confrontation after a bad challenge from the latter and Stevo wasn't too happy with the Nigerian.

Hearts were much more fluent in the second half and kept Killie pressed back. Shots from Nicholson and Oliver were saved before Gordon Smith missed a great chance to equalise after Stevo played in a free kick to Smith who was unmarked eight yards out, but couldn't get the slightest touch that would have given him the goal. Adam Smith also put in a couple of great crosses that went unrewarded.

The goal did come eventually after 79 minutes when McGowan won the ball on the halfway line and played it on to Gordon Smith who held of a challenge before unleashing a shot from 25 yards into the top corner.

Killie then went down to 10 men when O'Hara was sent off for a second yellow. Hearts pushed forward for a wilnner but were vulnerable to the break and almost paid the price in the last few minutes as Ridders came to the rescue.

Overall an entertaining match and a decent performance. I though the defence looked solid with the centre backs McKay and McGowan having their best games for a while. Stevo looked as if he didn't intend to break sweat throughout, when a bit more effort might have made the difference.
