Looking to take the missus away for her birthday in a few months, just for the weekend.

I really fancy the idea of a little cottage tucked away somewhere in the highlands, but dunno where to start in terms of looking.

I dont want to book the first one I see online, only to find it's a little sh*thoose!

Anyone help? Cheers!

Cheers Kenny, I'd appreciate that.

Anyone else welcome to recommend somewhere as well.

Cheers!

BTW Kenny, do you know where about the place is?

Not far from Aviemore, you have your own stream cutting through the back of the house... I'll call her at lunch and see if she can remember it off the top of her head.

Stayed in a log cabin up in Braemar a couple of years ago.

Stunning. Absolutely stunning, I'd love to go back there.

Would highly recommend anyone who fancies it. Fair do's the town's like the side of a shortbread tin, and they all talk funny, but lovely hospitable people with breathtaking countryside.

Myself and a few mates are currently renovating a cottage in this area but unfortunately due to the terms of the lease we're not allowed to rent it out. There are some nice cottages available and most of the locals are friendly. Only a 2 hour drive from Edinburgh.
