I'm off work, the xmas shopping is done and the bird is working. I need something to watch and keep me going *insert porn jokes here* Anything along the lines of the following;

Breaking Bad

The Wire

Sopranos

A game of thrones

I think im all out of decent shows to watch, I've tried many others to differing levels of success. What to watch now?

Done the above, will look into the others.

Trust me they're all worth it. Deadwood has the best use of swearing EVER in a TV programme. Justified is just brilliant and Sherlock is quality.

Homicide: Life on the Street

Southland

In Treatment

Any of the Danish/Swedish offerings that have been on BBC4 (The Killing, The Bridge, Borgen)

Good call, a sadly overlooked show nowadays.

Indeed. The focus is all on David Simon's 'other' series. There are/were some fantastic performances and storylines in Homicide.

Agreed re Deadwood. And if you listen carefully in one of the episodes, you will hear the Hearts song getting played in Al Swearengen's saloon.

The US version of Sherlock is called Elementary and is pretty good.

If you fancy some comedy. I watched the 1st series of Fresh Meat recently. Thought it was pretty good.

I've not seen it. Me Mrs loves it but her taste is generally awful. She likes Arrow

Oz

Ooh :jj:, not saw that in years. Amazing program and highly addictive. Must have been at least 10 years ago it was on channel 4 late night. Is it back on TV or are we talking download?

Another vote for Deadwood. And The Killing (the Danish version) Walking Dead, Dexter, Band of Brothers, Six Feet Under, The Corner.

Prisoners of war the original Israeli story on which homeland is very loosely based on. A hell of a lot better than homeland and a very interesting and gripping watch.

Can only echo Deadwood suggestions. It is easily one of the 2 or 3 greatest TV dramas ever imo. Just such a shame they never got the chance to see it through until the end.

Homeland

Arrested Develoment

Band Of Brothers

The Pacific

Tremendous also.

The first season is the best television you can ever hope to find.

Unless you're some thick American ***** who can't read subtitles and need US produces to make a sub-par equivalent.

Agree with this. JL Miller is excellent, and although not quite Sherlock as we know it, it is a show that is growing better by the week.

Was wondering why all you weirdos were recommending Deadwood :cornette:

Then I realised I was thinking of Torchwood

Is that the one that is full of homoeroticism? :oohmatron:

I'm not an American, but thought the US version was great. It was an adaptation of the original., so wasn't simply a carbon copy in English.
