Ray Gin
It's amazing how at first it doesn't actually look that big. Then you zoom in, zoom in, zoom in, zoom in further and the furthest zoom setting you see a person trying to climb the thing and they're still only a few pixels in size. Eldar Hadzimehmedovic
**** it, I'm gonna ask... ...is Everest the one at the back or the one at the front?
Harry Palmer
Thank feck you asked Eldar, although doesn't it have a pyramid type peak? Still hunting for the climbers....after completely bypassing/overlooking all the tents in the foreground until actually reading the article thing.. heartgarfunkel
I think it's the big hill on the left - the line of climbers is somewhere in the middle
Harry Palmer
Thought that, the pyramid type peak and all....
Pohang Jambo
I've spotted 2 lines of hikers, both around the middle, one group slightly higher than the other! awesome photo
Vlad-Stupid
Doesn't look hard to climb. Looks equivalent to Arthur's Seat
Swanny17
Doesn't look hard to climb. Looks equivalent to Arthur's Seat Agreed, and going by this photo it looks like you can drive most of the way up.....
heartgarfunkel
George Mallory and his mate died in 1924 trying to climb it. A real shame. However, they would have been around to have heard about Hibernian's last Scottish Cup triumph 22 years earlier. Big mountain, wee team. heartgarfunkel
Doesn't look hard to climb. Looks equivalent to Arthur's Seat Exactly, it's not even got that big slidey bit of grass in front of it which is a bit dodgey when it's been raining and you're wearing Sambas on the descent. Ray Gin
This gives you a wee idea of the scale.
heartgarfunkel
This gives you a wee idea of the scale. Arthur's Seat's still bigger, you've photoshopped that to make it look the other way around Seriously, that is just incredible scale.
Vlad-Stupid
Off the top of my head, Everest is about 8k metres high, what's Arthurs' Seat, couple of hundred?
topcat
Off the top of my head, Everest is about 8k metres high, what's Arthurs' Seat, couple of hundred? 8850m as compared to 250.5 Which means that if, like me, you've climbed Arthurs Seat 36 times over the course of the life you've effectively done Everest. The advantage of Everest is that you can't see Easter Road from the top

Pohang Jambo
http://www.yosemite-17-gigapixels.com/GlacierPointDeepZoom.htm Here is a very similar one, this time for Yosemite valley. Zoom right in and you can see folk right on top of the big main mountain.

Uberjambo
About 10 weeks. Lots of acclimatization. Just going to Base Camp is a 2 week trek to and from the Airport at Lukla. One scary airport.
