Beats Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Superb. What a legend big Zal is. Same with the guy with the winning bid!
joe.gausden Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Thought Big Zal was brilliant tonight with all his bids
Jambos1983 Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 It'll be a sad day when he leaves. Legend
Maroon Sailor Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I was there - good night but way out of my league with some of these bids ! ?1150 is a fantastic bid and good on you whoever was on the other end of that phone

joe.gausden Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Looked like a guy in the room won it The guy in the room was bidding for his mate on the phone
rossthejambo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I've said it on another thread that mentioned his 2 grand of bids (!!) but I love that man
Harry Palmer Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Thought he'd bought his own shirt (was reported as such) but nevermind, bumping the price up a wee bit is just as good.
J Cheever Loophole Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Paid ?20 to have a man hug with zal I hereby promise to donate ?10 for a diluted "proxy hug"with your good self on Saturday.Well done.
JAMBO.LOU Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Thought he'd bought his own shirt (was reported as such) but nevermind, bumping the price up a wee bit is just as good. Zal donated 2 shirts tonight - i think he was successful in winning the other one
andy-y Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Thought he'd bought his own shirt (was reported as such) but nevermind, bumping the price up a wee bit is just as good. He donated the Stevie Gerrard shirt to the auction and then bought it back. what a guy!
Maroon Sailor Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Thought he'd bought his own shirt (was reported as such) but nevermind, bumping the price up a wee bit is just as good. He bought his own framed and signed Steven Gerrard Liverpool shirt - it was the last item of the auction and he put in ?1051 for it ........ think that was the final amount. He kept putting 5-1 on the end of his bids
lulujambo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Wow!! Zal goes up in my estimations every week. Love him.
Nelly Terraces Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I put my arm round Zal once and we spoke. Anything in life after that day has been a bonus.
Chaps Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Absolutely love this guy, got a photo with him and the cup posing 5-1 Looked very slick tonight with his suit.
Geoff Kilpatrick Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Wage thief could obviously afford it! :'> Seriously, magnificent stuff by our leader!

deedeepix Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 I was under the impression Zal bought both the shirts back that he had donated. He actually said he wasn't going to let "that" shirt go, he wanted it back. Are you sure he never won it???
rossthejambo Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 From twitter...... Willie ?@emcpostie Zal doing his bit tonight. pic.twitter.com/XK22N2XS Magnificent

He actually said he wasn't going to let "that" shirt go, he wanted it back. Are you sure he never won it??? I think the guy with the phone bid was successful. Weren't there 3 shirts made for each player for the cup final - this might not have been the one he actually wore, despite what Scott Wilson said at the start. Beattie's shirt was 1 of 3 that were made.
Tommy Wiseau Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Possibly my favourite human being of all time

John Montgomery Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 He bought his own framed and signed Steven Gerrard Liverpool shirt - it was the last item of the auction and he put in ?1051 for it ........ think that was the final amount. He kept putting 5-1 on the end of his bids Thanks. I posted on Facebook he had bought the shirt he had donated for ?1051.00. I was beginning to think I had got it wrong.
mayfield Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Probably the most interesting accent at the club..the Lithuanian & Scottish mixed together, shows he's been at the club a while!
maroonshrew Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Could someone do me a favour and post the picture of Zal with the cup on the bus? I won a signed A3 copy of it tonight in the raffle. Delighted! I am sure someone has it on their avatar

Dunks Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Could someone do me a favour and post the picture of Zal with the cup on the bus? Not the one you mean, but I like it
Harry Palmer Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Could someone do me a favour and post the picture of Zal with the cup on the bus? This one? If not, it's still a magnificent picture.
Uncle Buck Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Could someone do me a favour and post the picture of Zal with the cup on the bus? Post #30. Kirkwood's avatar
uniwildcat38 Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Not the one you mean, but I like it This one? If not, it's still a magnificent picture. Something about these photos reminded me of Captain Sensible from The Damned, so I went looking for an image of him for comparison. Turns out the Captain already knew the score back in 1983!
