Basic computing on XL

Im trying to copy a picture from google images to an XL spreadsheet to no avail

 

Im right clicking on image, copy , then paste onto XL

 

But no picture appears in cell , however wording appears in the bar at the top saying.....=EMBED("Paint.Picture","")

 

what am I doing wrong?

 

I know this is pure basics, any help apprteciated.

Save the picture onto your computer as a .jpg file. By right clicking and selecting 'Save picture as'

 

Then find pic in your drive ( Remember where you saved it )

 

Right click on the pic and 'open with' - 'paint'.

 

Then edit select all.

 

Then edit copy.

 

Then paste into excel.

I am following your way and I can get a pic onto the spreadsheet...?

 

Are you clicking on the cell you want the pic in and then right clicking and then clicking paste?

I tried it on it new XL sheet and this worked fine

 

think problem was I was trying to edit an old XL sheet that had some data problem.

I think you are right, but the pic is a bit too small to know for sure

I assume you did the same as me, ran your mouse over the picture and a message box tells you who it is.

Never realised you could do that

 

I had copied the pic to paint to try and resize it but it was too blurry, so just went with my first instinct

I genuinely didn't, I clicked on it first of all.
