shaun.lawson
Tell you what, Ukraine are giving France a better game than England. Must win for England tonight I think. It's a really good contrast in styles. France have more quality, but Ukraine are lightning on the counter. Ukraine might be starting to sniff a possible semi-final place here. Germany to win the tournament by conquering Poland or the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Russia, in a tournament held in Poland and the Ukraine? Tommy Wiseau
Ribery hasny lived up to the hype. Hes been gash this tournament. Keeps giving the ball away Just doesn't do it for me. I get that he is a really good technical footballer, but his decision making at the top level is atrocious. Considering the standard of player you keep hearing he is, I have very rarely seen him have anything above a 6 or 7/10 in the really big games. Notable exception was his performance at Old Trafford 2 seasons (?) ago, when he ripped Man United apart. Don't see that often enough when it matters imo. He is so, so overrated. Never seems to come up with the goods when it counts. He's like some latter day answer to Denilson or something.

Ukraine beating Sweden was the worst result for England IMO. No matter what they now go into the last game knowing a win will see them through, I don't fancy England's chances against them if/when that happens even with a win tonight. No matter what they now go into the last game knowing a win will see them through, I don't fancy England's chances against them if/when that happens even with a win tonight. I've always anticipated that tbh, and imagine Hodgson probably has too. Ukraine on home soil were always going to be dangerous: we're talking about World Cup quarter-finalists as recently as in 2006 here, and they're horribly tough to beat on their own patch. Since the draw was made, I've had a Euro 92 repeat in my head: England drawing the first two, needing to beat the underrated hosts (who play in yellow) to stay in, going in front early on, then collapsing. It still is, to be honest. EDIT: Though Ross, if Ukraine managed to win this one (perfectly possible, though I doubt it'll happen), and if England-Sweden was a draw, that'd be Ukraine already through as group winners, and they could rest players for the last game.
