tian447
Good: Stable. Free. Runs quickly. Does everything you need to. Comes with a lot of free software. Cons: If you don't know what you're doing, good fecking luck. Windows Programmes are hard to install on it if you haven't got any idea about it. Compatibility issues for the everyday user. Prefer Windows for everyday use, and Linux (Mint or Ubuntu) for messing around when building systems.

JamboInSouthsea
I use Ubuntu all the time and love it Can understand why doing certain things might appear to be daunting initially but it's easy to pick up and a lot less bother than Windows overall. ubuntuforums.org is an excellent place to get help should you need any. Do you guys use it on its own or have windows ready ? I just use Ubuntu full stop and have dumped Windows for good as don't see me using it for anything. Any office stuff I use the LibreOffice which comes with it, don't play games much although if you have wine.org running you can do so apparently (as with other Windows based stuff). Won't use Windows again if I can help it.
blondejamtart
Go rid of Windows completely and just use Ubuntu all the time now. Would definitely recommend.
Bert Le Clos
I went there on holiday once. It's lovely May-November but very wet in March and April. Scenery is stunning though.
