Thought it was an enjoyable game. 2 teams set up for the most part trying to play football.

 

Banks - 5 - perhaps should have done better with opener (2 hands to it?), one excellent save in 2nd half

Thomson - 5 - did okay, but will need to improve if he is to be competition for the right back place

Karipidis - 5 - always struggles against a physical centre forward

Berra - 6 - quiet game

Goncalves - 3 - struggled, had too much of the ball, Wallace clearly the better option in defence

Kingston - 5 - coasted through game, magnificent free kick

Jonsson - 7 - good game, good to see him score

Palazuelos - 4 - very skiilled at looking classy while playing a team mate into trouble

Miko - 5 - end of the MoM run for him, very quiet

Nade - 3 - very unfit

Glen - 8 - a 'Flogel flick', goal and lots of hard work

 

Makela - 6 - how has he been kept out by Klimek, Beniusis, Ksnavicius?

Wallace - 5 - should be starting at left back

Mole - 5 - little time but one good effort on goal

 

Ref - good game from McCurry.

 

St Mirren - I like their passing game. And though I have never seen Mehmet take a shot so I don't know if he can score - he had an excellent game at holding the ball up. Poor man's Jankauskas. Is he worth 1/10th of Nade's wages?

Banks 5 - Not much to do really apart from pick the ball out the net, one good save.

 

Thomson 6 - Good performance, should play again next week.

Goncalves 6 - Thought he was OK today, made a couple of good runs.

Berra 6 - Usual from him. Dealt with most things which came near him.

Karipidis 5 - Wasn't brilliant. Seemed to struggle against Mehmet.

 

Kingston 7 - Far too greedy, needs to learn to pass. Stunning free kick however.

Miko 5 - Quiet. Unusual for him.

Jonsson 7 - Very good I thought. Lucky goal but very strong at tackling, works well with Ruben.

Palazuelos 7 - Typical good performance from him. Excellent passer of a ball.

 

Nade 5 - More or less what I expected.

Glen 8 - By far our best player, superb flick for the first goal. Took his goal well. Looks a real prospect.

 

Subs - Makela 6 - Unlucky not to score. Looked up for it.

Wallace 5 - Not much to do.

Mole 4 - Not much time.

Jose-3- Pish poor. Distribution is so so bad. Would love to see his pass completion ratio, must been about 10%. Wallace looked much better in the 10 mins he was on. Sell sell sell

 

Larry- 7- What a freekick. Saunters around the pitch a bit though looking like he doesnt give a ****. Few nice touches as ever, but held onto the ball for too long at other times. Still, what a freekick!

 

Eggert-8- Thought he was superb today. Scored and was everywhere making tackles.

 

Ruben-6/7- I like how he always looks to bring the ball down but not his best game today. Gave the ball away a bit much

 

Miko-5- Quiet

 

Nade-2- Unfit and clearly doesnt give a falkirk. Also choco, injured again! Frustrates the hell out of me as he could be a player if he cared to try.

 

Glen-8- Really impressed me, and edges Eggert for MOTM. Great runs, fast, fit (Nade take note) and always looking to bring the ball in. Looks like he might not be too great in the air so will need to play alongside a big man but i really liked what i saw

Makela - 6 - did enough to suggest the reasons he isn't playing aren't footballing ones

Wallace - 5 - the usual pointless sub from Frail

Mole - 5 - was on for long ,but had a decent effort on goal which was good to see

Must admit i was bored today, it was like watching a meaningless friendly, and ended up being a meaningless game played without any atmosphere.

 

Banks - 5 - Thought he might have got their opener, that apart OK.

 

Thomson - 6 - An improvement on what we have had to suffer in that position without doing anything spectacular. Great to see someone who understands the idea is to pass to someone wearing the same colour top as yourself, and not to various people sitting in various parts of the stand.

Karipidis - 6 - Did all that was asked of him

Berra - 6 - See Karipidis

Goncalves - 2 - Mince

 

Kingston - 4 - Good goal, apart from that very little.

Jonsson - 7 - Played well

Palazuelos - 6 - Not as effective as Jonsson.

Miko - 3 - Slightly better than Goncalves

 

Nade - 2 - About same as Goncalves

Glen - 7 - Looked OK, did a lot of running.

 

Makela - 5 - Looked reasonable, no errors, no petulance, no glaring misses.

Wallace - 4 - Didn't see enough of him to really judge

Goncalves 7 - Almost MOTM for me. Strolled through the game and his determination in the St Mirrin box set up Glen for his goal.

 

Berra 6 - Dealt with everything well.

 

Karipidis 6 - A couple of sticky moments but calm and collected

 

Kingston 6 - Great free kick but his decision making was poor today. Should have passed more often.

 

Miko 5 - Game seemed to pass him by somehow. Industrious.

 

Jonsson 7 - Covered every blade of grass. Tackled and scored.

 

Pazuelos 7 - Once again commited and good passing.

 

Nade 5 - This guy is an enigma. Didn't win a header despite his height.

 

Glen 8 - MOTM. Good in possession, comfortable on the ball and good reaction for the goal.

 

 

As an aside a guy behind me booed Jose every time he got the ball. This was despite the fact the he played one of his best games for us. He was instrumenta in the move which resulted in Glen's goal and was excellent until Frail hooked him to give Wallace a chance. The Jose-haters should really get a f~~ing grip and watch the bloody match rather than allow their blind prejudice to refuse to accept that a player can improve and has !

Thomson - 6 - wee bit out of position at times, particularly in the first half, but came on to it. Some nice touches and passing

Karipidis - 6 - Some nice stuff at times

Berra - 5 - Quiet today, think he likes playing with Karipidis.

Goncalves - 4 - Been better, in fact alot better

Kingston - 6 - lovely goal, missed a few good chances to lay on

Palazuelos - 6 - Needs to improve forward thinking, but tried hard

Nade - 4 - Apparently after the clash of heads he didn't know who he was, the physio told him he was Velicka and to get back on the park.

Makela - 4 - Jumped up for a header and you still couldn't get a credit card under his feet.

Wallace - 5 - Did fine

McCurry - 1 - yer a cheat and you know it. I'm sorry but should not be allowed near a football stadium.

I know it was a meaningless game & there wasn't much bite but I was encouraged by the amount of football that we played & tried to play.

 

Banks - 5 Should have done better at the 1st goal

Thomson 6 Fine composed display, found a team mate virtually every time

Jose G - 4 Average at best

Christos - 7 Decent display

Berra - 6 Not as dominant as usual

Miko - 7 Very diligant midfield display, good tracking back & tackling

Jonsson - 8 Thought he was very good today, strong & skillful.

Ruben - 6 Hit & Miss

Larry - 6 Great free kick, nice touches but far too greedy on many occasions.

Nade - 6 Coming onto a game when he got flattened.

Thomson looked much more solid and passed the ball well. Not as creative as he used to be but has addressed his defensive weaknesses it seems. Johsson my MOTM by some way. First time I've thought he could be very good indeed.

Banks 7 - Not much chance with the goals, (two fantastic goals BTW) good distribution and a couple of fine saves.

 

Thomson 7 - If we could roll JT's abilty with Robbie Neilson's experience and reliability, we'd have the perfect right back, I don't think Thomson is quite there yet, maybe next season he may play a few more games, I still thinks he needs to improve a little.

 

Karipidis 6 - He didn't shine but a decent performance, no big mistakes.

 

Berra 6 - Same as CK.

 

Goncalves 5 - He gave the ball away a few times but I could see what he was doing with some of them, the one to Miko but he had stopped, that was unlucky although a pro footballer should be able to look up.

 

Kingston 7 - He actually looks off form, some of his touches aren't coming off but you can still see the guy has class.

 

Jonsson 7 - He shown the workrate of Stewart today without the madman mentality, good spirit.

 

Palazuelos 5 - For the last few weeks he has looked off to me, hopefully this was the low point, quite a few misplaced passes from the Spaniard, unusual for him but it shows what a high standard he has set in the past when talking about him like this.

 

Mikoliunas 5 - A quiet game, he done nothing wrong, not really involved much.

 

Nade 5 - Held the ball up well, closed the keeper down a couple of times, still needing to work on his fitness and stamina.

 

Glen 7 - Good first start, he worked well and played for the jersey, good ability and some good play at times.

Makela 6 - Good link up play with Kingston, I didn't know he had that pace as well, he's quite fast, unlucky with the shot.

 

Wallace 2 - No time to impress, out of position a bit at first.

Kingston 6 Good at times. Great free kick.

Palazuelos 6 Out of sorts first half. Commanding in the 2nd.

Miko 7 MoM. Proving a lot of us wrong. Got everywhere today and took some heavy challenges.

Glen 6 Good touches. Looked like a proper striker. Clum could learn a lot from him.

Overall decent performance and we deserved the points for our second half efforts. Good to see us ditch the punt forward in the second half in favour of playing some football.

Mikoliunas 8 - Anonymous for most of the first half but deserves praise for superb assist. Thought he had a great second half shift.

Berra 7. Organised well and strolled through it

 

Karapidis 6. A bit of a query on whther he can cope with the physical side of the SPL but otherwise okay and quite a cool head on him.

 

Goncalves 4. The weak link in the back 4. Cant pass. Cant defend. Should we try him somewhere else maybe ? (Kaunus for example)

 

Kingston 5. Would be a great player if he gave 100%. Didnt today.

 

Palazuelos 6. Not bad but terribly one footed and I wish he'd do the simple things a bit better and a bit more often.

 

Jonnson 7. Played a bit further forward than Ive seen him. Much more involved in the game as a result. Good performance.

 

Miko 5. Ordinary. An off day judging by his recent form.

 

Nade 3. Not the answer whilst he remains so unfit.

Glen 8. Really liked him. Buzzed around. Made himself available for the ball. Quick feet and good skill.

 

Makela 4. Needs a run in the team till the end of the season and then lets come to a decision on him

 

Wallace 5 A better left back option than the one that started there

 

Mole 3. Not much time

Simply mean he ran around a lot. A lot of effort but little impact on the game. Basically down to poor decision making I think.

 

Someone else pointed out one of Jose's passes down the left channel where he could reasonably assume that Miko would chase it. Miko was caught flatfooted making the pass (and Jose) look stupid.

You seem to be the 1st person to notice this.His 2nd half performance passing wise was really poor.Shame because he had a very good start to the game.Now if Neilson passed the ball like Jonsson did 2nd half(does more than often) the marks would be anything from 0_3.Always wonder when other players are just as bad they seem to get a 5 or 6.
