Goose Baxter
Looking to buy a seat leon cupra with the money i have saved up and i really want this car but insurance quotes are on the 2k + region. Got 3 points and have only been driving for a year. Tried to put the bird on it as a main driver and me and named. Still a bit expensive. Tried the travel supermarket people as well for the car insurance. Does anyone know of any good car insurance companys that they would recomend to me? The Old Tolbooth
Try confused.com mate, I also know the CIS used to be cheapest for younger drivers too.
Goose Baxter
Know it was my fault for the speeding, but some of the prices they quote you are unreal. One was offering 4k+ Will give the cis people a bash and see what they come up with Cheers
Rawrrrrrrr
If its one speeding offence and 3 points its unlikely to be the main issue How old are you? Tbh From the sounds of it your unlikely to get a decent quote for this car I paid 1500k for my first year as a second driver and that was a 1.3 Quotes of 1500- 2000 arent unusual for men in the first few years Your going to have to decide how much you want the car I reckon As for companies, go to tesco Ive rarely heard of them being beaten for young drivers

Rawrrrrrrr
Sadly you will either need to sell up or accept paying astronomical insurance for the next couple of years a 23 year old with 1 years no claim, 3 points and a big engined boy racer car is not exactly a desirable proposition to insurance companies See what tesco offer, and i doubt you will do much better
IronJambo
do yourself a favour and drive a "sensible" car for a couple of years so you've got a decent no claims bonus to use when you buy flying machine
Goose Baxter
do yourself a favour and drive a "sensible" car for a couple of years so you've got a decent no claims bonus to use when you buy flying machine but she is so beautiful and i feel in love with her when i first seen her. Would it be any cheaper if we added her dad to it. say with him as the main driver?

Rawrrrrrrr
Can i ask why if you dont mind? Because your commiting fraud by stating someone is a main driver when they arent with the sole intention of lowering the cost However I did it for 4 years and got away with it fine:rolleyes: Its upto you whether you want to risk it
DemonCleaner
The cheapest quotes i seem to be getting are around 7-800 mark which is not too bad seeing as i only passed my test last week. although i'm not going for a turbo boy racer thing. The Brow
You a student? When I was a student Endsleigh gave you 1/3rd off their prices. Feckin magic. For my current car insurance I just put my mum on the policy and said I used her garage to store the car at night This halved the premium to a respectable ?280 fully comp. As far as I am concerned insurance companies are erses anyway so tell all the white lies you can. Theres no way they will find out, its not like they come round to the house to do spot checks. Could be steeper this year tho cos I got caught speeding last week on slateford road at 3am on a friday night. You'd think they would turn off the cameras when the road is busy eh? Global warming and all that
trotter
Might be worthwhile giving SKY Insurance a call on 08701121759 - as I said on a thread last week, I'm 23 and they insured me on my 310bhp RX7 for ?1k. Still think you might struggle with insuring that car as a young and inexpereinced (no offence ) driver. Might be worthwhile buying a *****ter and running that for a year to get at least one years NCB. HTH T
