What do you collect

So most men love gathering junk and gems in some form of a collection, so what makes yours? Being a Hearts forum most of us will have a good collection of Hearts memorabilia, whats the gems in your Hearts collection and what else do you collect.

Ive started getting into las vegas poker/casino chips from post 80s, and have a few worth a few hundred pound. Ebay and the like has made things like this easyt to get into but harder to find gems at a good price due to the amound of people that bid.

Well to start off, from my Hearts collection I have,

1962 league cup final program

2006 v hibs program signed by P Hartley

2006 - 2 signed football strips by whole team, 1 home, 1 away

2010 - Kevin kyle match worn strip, also signed by the team

1997/1998 - 2 brass plates in picture frame, the prints the papers used, 1 of Robbo scoring the pen v rangers to break the record and 1 of JJ and Brown lifting the scottosh cup.

1998/2006 - full set of programmes in both cup runs (more common due to all games in early rounds being at tynie) but both semi final programmes are signed.

Il go through and see what else is there, quite a few boxes with old programmes, cigerette cards etc

As I'm currently living in Poland, I've got Euro 2012 fever and as a result I am currently collecting football stickers for the first time since I was in P7. I'd forgotten how good it is.

I mainly collect football memorabilia, have quite a few signed hearts strips from down the years, Also a signed hearts ball from the game after we went for sale against aberdeen

Have a signed barcelona ball from barcelona vs deportivo a few years back when messi was just breaking through into the first team, also a signed rangers ball that my dad got when he was younger and passed it down, numerous pictures and programmes signed.

The biggest or maybe most valuable things are a signed Manchester United strip and ball from the 1999 treble winning team. Apart from that the last thing i can remember collecting was POGS

Parking tickets for me. I tend to forget about them completely.

I found a couple from 1999 earlier today when I was sorting through some stuff.

I wonder if they have an expiry date?

Was in a pub in NY. behind the bar, the owner had a massive collection of little bottles with earth in them from all the different countries in the world he had been to. Quite liked the idea of it but just never got round to doing it and only remember about it when i get back from the trip ;)

Piles of hearts programs from 50 years ago from my stepdad. He doesn't even like football :(

Collect , buy and sell first editions of books - have around 2,500 at home, will see me good in my retirement

Re Hearts memorabilia Londonjambo is your man, but I have a few interesting items - perhaps the nicest is my Aunt's scrapbook from the late 40's early 50s - she wrote poems for the Hearts programme (mainly about her idol Jimmy Brown (keeper)

Starting to get into this...have aquired some over the years without consciously collecting them but recently been buying a few online. Recent buys include "The Hearts" Albert Mackie and "The Joy of Sex" Alex Comfort

Also collect Backgammon sets always looking for old ones ( pre-1960s )

2000AD comics......til about 18 years ago got boxes of the things in a cupboard.

I remember when they were relaunched in the 1970s, the first 2 or 3 issues had free gifts in them. Used to love them when I was wee.

Is STRIKER the comic that had the Safest Hands In Soccer in it? If so, I used to love that, but IIRC did it not merge with the Victor, becoming Victor and Striker for a few months, then just Victor with only a couple of the Striker stories surviving?

Used to collect rare soul vinyl but can't afford to now with family etc. Still got a tasty wee collection,I will get back into it when the kids grow up a bit. Used to collect beer mats when I was wee. Don't know why this was a fad in 70's.
