All roads lead to Gorgie

Prog Rock was spoiled by that "FISH" guy

Fair point - Marillion had their moments, mind - even if they were just copying Genisis most of the time!

The first Marillion record did copy Genesis as the band themselves admitted, but by their second and third albums they were far superior.

Genesis music was far too slow and plodding for my tastes, whereas I saw Marillion on the Clutching at Straws tour at the Playhouse and they were fantastic.

I've seen Fish solo a few times and his gigs are still worth seeing as the guy is a strong frontman.

Selling England by the pound is still one of my favourite albums ever

Saw them support someone - think it was Robert Plant - at the Playhouse in the '80s. They were shite and I couldn't wait for their set to end.

Plant must have been impressed by It Bites guitarist, Frank Dunnery, as he later joined Plant's band.
