Virgin provided mine for free, have you spoken to them?

not yet I had a look at their website and it only seemed free if you upgraded

Tell them you are having intermittent problems and there is a chance they will sent you an integrated Virgin Hub featuring an integrated modem an wireless router. I had problems and they said they would just sent a new hub rather than send someone out. I installed it. No certainty though

I recently changed to that new fibre optic wireless modem thingy. The bees knees!

If you get a seperate router you will end up with loads more wires, as you'd need to connect router and modem together and both need their individual AC power supply, which makes a mockery of the word "wireless"

Virgin have got a "Superhub"

It is in fact - Super. I highly reccomend it.

It is the virgin modem and wireless router in one.

Phone them up - although they may try and charge you

This.

They will charge you. I previously had the old telewest modem, and didn't even know about this new one.

If you threaten to leave Virgin, they will slash your monthly bill and bend over backwards to keep you as a customer.
