I was 13 at the time of this game and even then I knew there were few better feelings than beating a team with Willie Miller in it.

I was at this game and it wasn't the best season for us domestically, finishing below hibs for the first time since we got back up to the Premier League. Yet 88/89 was also host to our greatest ever European run, and possibly the only European run of note in our history - a sorry statistic compared to other 'top' Scottish teams.

 

 

I remember the damp conditions, the goal, the Hillsborough tribute and afterwards, an Aberdeen fan shouting that they were "still 20 points ahead of" us.

we were awful in the league that year. I mind the last game of the season against United when Kenny Black played his last game for us and the shed were singing 'Kenny must stay'. till he missed a penalty anyway then it changed to Kenny must go.
