Lots of debate on here surrounding politics so lets see where we stand in April 2011 with regards to the Scottish Elections.

I think I've put the right options of parties to chose from and given the options of undecided and no vote... so

Let see what you think.

The Comedian

I'll be voting for SNP primarily to keep Labour out.

I'm not a SNP voter (Conservative) but I do think the SNP have done an okay job here. I'd be disgusted if Labour returned to be being the largest party here in Scotland.

I've been generally pleased with the job the SNP have done since getting into power 4 years ago.

Will keep voting for them until I feel they aren't living up to the major promises they've made e.g. Free education, Council Tax freeze etc.

That said I don't think we should have dessolved power.

The thought of the most corrupt and incompetent party in British political history assuming control of the Scottish parliament makes me feel ill.

SNP first vote, Tory second I think.

Bit of tactics there, but I'm comfortable with my vote at the moment.

SNP, I think. Labour are a shambles and I don't think much of the Lib Dems up here either. Still not sure about Independence, but I'm voting for the party that has Scotland's interests at heart, rather than keeping their friends in Westminster happy.

As a teacher, I couldn't vote SNP again after they failed to live up to pretty much anything in their education manifesto.

Unsure who I'll vote for though.

People who won't vote should have a word.

Exactly: If you don't vote, you veto the right to complain about any Government decisions. Maybe people who don't vote, or don't see the point, should try living under a dictatorship. How you can sacrifice exercising a RIGHT that many people in this world don't have is beyond me.

Personally, I don't vote as I don't see the difference in any of the Parties. Apart from Thatcher, she was/is the F****** Devil :verymad:

SNP, Tories, Labour, they're all the same, Lying, Theiving, devious B*******. They look after number 1, they tell us what we want to hear, then when they're elected they change..."That's not exactly what we meant, when we promised.... Blah F****** Blah..." So for me, it doesn't matter who gets in we're F*****!!

Not one of the candidates, especially Fat Alex, would I leave in charge of running a sweep stake dry.gif

You won't find me complaining about any Government decisions, so I'm cleared.

I think every party is much of a muchness. I also don't see much point in choosing a party based on its election manifesto as they can't be trusted to deliver on those anyway, so what's the point?

I last voted about 4 years ago and voted for The Witchery candidate. It was at that point I realised I'd be as well saving myself even walking to the polling station and just not bothering.

Completely disagree. You have just as much right not to vote and still criticise Government decisions.

Like you, I don't understand why people would forego their right to vote and I have never missed an opportunity to vote in 21 years, but abstaining, if done after thoughtful deliberation, is an entirely valid stand to take and should not prevent the person from continuing to engage with the issues, complain if necessary or even praise, on the off chance that a politician might one day do something praiseworthy.

I'll vote lib dems because Margaret Smith is a far better option than Colin Keir, Lesley Hinds or Gordon Lindhurst.

I have never voted, and I probably won't anytime soon. I know nothing about politics, so my vote would be based on nothing but ignorance.

Once I get older and more mature, I expect that to change.

No, he pulled out of the running. Had he won the election he'd have had a job and wage and wouldn't have been able to inherit his uncles (??) fortune.

Also - thinking about it.. They said at the end that the election was to be re-run so he could have stood again I guess. But would you want to be the mayor of NYC?

If i had just inherited 300mil, public office could take a running jump. I'd've bought the hearts and would be mainlining skag into my ballsack for the rest of existence.

I'm a floating voter and can't decide which party to go for. To the casual observer they all seem very similair these days.

I mean labour used to be socialist and Tories capitalist with liberals a watered down version of the Tories. Nowadays it just seems a bit samey.

Forgot snp. I would maybe vote for them but that salmond character just seems like a total ^^^^.

Can never understand those that don't vote. People have, are doing now and in the future will die fighting for democracy and all we get from those that don't vote saying, they are all the same or it doesn't make any difference.

Well it does. look carefully at their policies and you'll find something to agree or disagree on. You'll find somethying that will affect you or your family.

Yes. If you vote SNP, you havent really got a clue about politics.

i would debate it to be the other way around deary

the SNP are the only party who are in any way concerned about the country we live in.

i follow politics, and made my own mind up at each election where my vote would go, based on my own research and i do not take kindly to being called an idiot who knows nothing about politics by someone who's only contribution is to insult other voters.

i could hasten a guess where your vote will be going of course, not that i would be so crass as to decry YOUR opinion

Because I though Hearts supporters had more intelligence than to jump on the 'braveheart' band wagon.
