Charlie-Brown
For next season Hearts & Hibs should insist to the SPL that the traditional New Year Hearts v Hibs derby fixture is restored. January 1st would obviously be the most preferable date but Boxing day or January 2nd would also be acceptable - certainly it has to be within the Xmas / New Year holiday period. Jingle Bells.........
Hearts Heritage
No we DONT. Hibs have a better record in it. Seriuosly though it doesn't have to be on the 2nd (games will not now be played on the 1st due to policing costs); any date over the festive period would suit. jambo_ellen
true it stupid having fans travelling to inverness and killie at these times of year. England do it with "grand slam sunday" so why can't the spl fix the fixtures.

Jingle Bells......... Agreed Our Xmas and News year fixtures this season were uninspiring to say the least. Beating the Hobos on Boxing Day last season was brilliant. Hearts Heritage
true it stupid having fans travelling to inverness and killie at these times of year. England do it with "grand slam sunday" so why can't the spl fix the fixtures. It worked when it was done with pencil and paper. The fixture list now is cobnstructed by playing the 11 fixtures in strict order and reverse order. There is absolutely NO reason for this. You make the games around the festive season 'local' if possible. Inverness and Aberdeen do cause problems but you can minimise it. Another fixture than should be set in stone is Hearts play at home the weekend of rememberance Sunday. In fact I'd almost insist that it should be played on the Sunday itself.
