Lochend Brazil
To settle an arguement. Who have won the most cups Hearts or Hibs. Who has been relegated more Hearts or Hibs. Do Hibs have the worst Derby record in Britain, if not where are they placed on the list. How many wins/draws was there during the 22 game period. Where are Hibs and Hearts placed on the SPL league position table since it begun, say since 1993(or what date) etc. Who have won the most matches overall against each other and the number please. FACTS Cheers LB

Gibbo
Scottish Cup: Hearts 7, Hibs 2. League Cup: Hearts 4, Hibs 3. Relegation: 3 each. On UK wide Derby records, it probably depends on what counts as a Derby e.g. is Rangers v. Partick Thistle? Or Falkirk v. East Stirlingshire? King of the North
To settle an arguement. Do Hibs have the worst Derby record in Britain, if not where are they placed on the list. LB They do indeed - and apparently it is only the Bucharest derby which prevents them having the worst derby record in the entire world. I say apparently because I have no idea what the stats are for the bucharest derby. So worst in Britain, second worst in the world? I'll take that. I'm pretty certain that the vermin also avoided another relegation in the nineties due to some sort of league reorganization. If I remember correctly something similar also happened to Aberdeen. Of course age and alcohol may be affecting the memory and sheer laziness prevents me from checking the accuracy of my assertion.

Buffalo Bill
Hibernian have only won the Scottish Cup once (in 1902). 'Hibernians' won the cup in 1887 but were a different (and long defunct) club to Hibernian. Buffalo Bill .

If I remember correctly something similar also happened to Aberdeen. Of course age and alcohol may be affecting the memory and sheer laziness prevents me from checking the accuracy of my assertion. There have been several seasons in which there was no relegation due to league reconstruction: 1985-86: Motherwell & Clydebank escaped. 1990-1: St. Mirren finished bottom, with only one scheduled to be relegated but Hibs were bottom when the vote was taken to suspend relegation, making many subsequent games irrelevant. In the other seasons the vote to change was at either after the end or before the start of the season 1999-2000: Aberdeen escaped. In 2002-3 Motherwell finished bottom but escaped due to Falkirk's lack of a 10,000 seater stadium. I think that Motherwell also escaped relegation due to league reconstruction once in the 50s. hoof.hearted
The cabbage have played in the old 2nd division though, something we never have.......and never will. That was when the 1st division had about 400 teams in it so you had to be mighty bad to go down.
Gibbo
In 1991 it was generally considered amongst Hearts supporters & even some neutrals that Hibs would have been relegated without league reconstruction as results after January were distorted by the pressure of relegation being removed

Busby8
None of the above facts count or matter when you take into account that they were the first to wear green and allegedly the first to have floodlights. .......which is also the reason they were first to play in the European Cup. It was nothing to do with their league placing the previous year. They finished 4th behind Aberdeen, Hearts and the currant buns I think. Nope, it was all down to them having an illuminated pitch, ironically unlike the vast majority of the numpties who follow them.

Slick 21
Not really a good time to brag, is it? OK the historical facts are known, and noted/accepted. I think I`d have a tiny wee bit more on my mind right now though, given the possibillities ahead. Hibs did indeed fold, and stats are therefore null and void therein...........Today, at Hearts, is a different kettle of kippers. A thread devoted to slagging us off, Aids etc. is, I`m sure is something to make you feel good. However, I fear for the future of EDINBURGH`S football. ATM. We both have so much in common, yet you STILL hate us so? Common enemies, both of us have. Not from the East. Get a grip.
