Ulysses
A penalty shoot out is a sad way for it all to end I think so as well. I'm in discussions with the team captains about a way to finish the competition the way it should be - with predictions. Failing that, we'll come up with a plan to give Britain strong stable government.

Ulysses
How about sudden death using the SC Final only Captain v Captain? I'm inclined to agree, and hopefully we'll have a plan by Monday evening.

I'm inclined to agree, and hopefully we'll have a plan by Monday evening. For the second year in a row I found myself in BTW watching Falkirk's last game as a disinterested bystander except this year I had an interest in the game. Little did I expect as I quietly wolfed the Caley 80/-s being the eye-of-the-storm sereeness that this competition would also involve nail biting to the end. Jeez as if I didn't have enough crosses to bear! Thanks as ever are due to Uly and the assistant Ulys for organising this and could I add my vote to those hailing the success of this format Good luck with your deliberations

Ulysses
Competition final replay The replay will take place between 12 and 15 May. There will be a coupon of six games, and all players will forecast according to the normal rules. However, there will be no Platinum game. Forecasts should be for the scoreline at the end of normal time in each game (so we won't be counting extra time or penalties if they arise). In the event that the teams are tied on the same score, there will be a tie-break - or more accurately up to four tie-breaks - based on the number of goals scored in the six games. Players from each team will be drawn in pairs, and each pair will form a tie-break if needed. See below for more details. Get your predictions in before 7:45 pm on Wednesday, 12 May. Please note the deadline date and time carefully. You can forecast on this thread, or you can send your forecasts by PM or via JKB email to one of the following members: Deek Eastender Paul_C Ulysses Final replay Real BS v Maroon 4 Final replay matches played 12-15 May Games being played at neutral venues are marked in bold as an aid to players. Forecasts are required for the score at the end of normal time (excluding extra time and penalties). Cardiff v Leicester Atletico Madrid v Fulham Swindon v Charlton Huddersfield v Millwall Dundee Utd v Ross County Chelsea v Portsmouth Tie-break pairings Tie-break 1: Geoff Kilpatrick v ArmiyaRomanova Tie-break 2: Boof v Officer Dibble Tie-break 3: kitster v Devries4 Tie-break 4: portobellojambo1 v brownkg Whichever player forecasts a number of goals scored that is closer to the actual number scored in the six games will be the winner. Each tie-break will only be used if it is required. So tie-break 1 will only be used if the teams are level on points. If tie-break 1 doesn't produce a winner, tie-break 2 will be used, and so on until we get a winner. If we still have a draw after all that, we're back to a penalty shootout.
