i8hibsh
Absolutely love this song but do you think we need to modernise it? It is the 25th anniversary of the song and the channel tunnel has been constructed and Rossi, Boniec, or Tardelli are drawing their pensions? The People's Chimp
No need to modernise it...or to confuse the last verse...which is already a little confused in any event. The song is a classic and there's no need for a modern remix.
Oxford City
The Hearts song mentions 'Massie and Walker and Bauld and Mackay' - who are even older. If you revise songs to make them modern, you'll have to change them again in a couple of years. And since, as we've established here before, people have different ideas about which players are mentioned in the last verse anyway, does it matter? JennyJambo
Aye it's fine as is...though it'd be great if everyone sang the correct players names! I've heard all sorts of names sung! We should be very proud of The Euro Song. Immense when sung as one. The Hobo's would love to have anything near as good.

KennyMcP
All I ever hear when it's time to sing the Rossi, Boniek, Tardelli bit is mumbling. Either the song should change to be more modern or all fans should actually learn the words. That's not me being critical of those who don't know, as I suspect many of the younger fans wouldn't have heard of these players, but there is an argument for bringing it up to date. The songs sounds amazing when a packed Tynie belts it out. Apart from that one line which makes me cringe - because as a club, we don't appear to even know our own songwords. That is the part of the song that gets most folk also the song that we sing "Tell all the Hibs you know, Aberdeen is as far as they' go" should be changed to "Inverness" as it makes us look stupid

Stupid Sexy Flanders
Should it not be "other players" rather than "foreign players" anyway? I mean, we aren't exactly short of an overseas player or two ourselves are we? Unless the song is only intended to support our Scottish lads? Jambo_ree
The way I learned it, it was always "Rossi, Boniek, or Altobelli" which always fit a lot better into the tune anyway. bn jambo
Possible revised euro song (prefer the normal version personally, but just incase!) And so the end is near, We’ve followed Hearts from Perth to Paisley, We’ve travelled far , By bus and car, And then again we’ve went by railway, We’ve been to Aberdeen, We hate the Hibs they make us spew up, So make some noise , The Gorgie boys, Are going to Europe To see HMFC we’d walk right through the channel tunnel We’d go afloat on some big boat, And tie our scarves around the funnel, Big players we have no fears, Ronaldo , Kaka, we’ve watched on telly, While were oversea’s, The hibs will be In portobelly!!!! Like i say whoever penned the original is a hearts legend, and i personally don't think the song should be touched but for those going on about the channel tunnel being finished and the one's who think we should update the players, you could always try get everyone to sing this, godspeed to you

Craig Young
We did modernise it in 1998 ! 1998 VERSION (same tune) We all can laugh at Hibs When we play Chelsea, Metz or Inter They'll travel far, to see Stranraer and visit Airdrie in the winter. While Hearts, go marching on and show the Hibs the way to do it, they lost at Ayr, and we don't care, we're going to Europe. The days, not far away when we will reach the heights of glory. We'll follow Hearts through foreign parts and Gorgie boys will tell the story. How we scored three, at Napoli took care of Bierhoff and Vi?erri when we're overseas, the Hibs will watch us on the telly. We will never stop singing the original first.
