heartsfc_fan
Ok the game was pretty poor, but consider this for a second. We had 2, YES TWO "attacking" players on the pitch at the end. Jonsson - defensive player Berra - defensive player Zaliukas - defensive player Wallace - defensive player Karipidis - defensive player Palazuelos - defensive player Neilson - defensive player Aguair - defensive player Mole - not worth commenting on I'd also mention Obua - he's not an attacking player! So...the only player we have on the pitch is Driver who can pose any sort of a threat. Is appalling! We lack attacking players - Where is Tullberg? Why doesn't Glen at least get a shout on the bench? Cesnauskis - Injured. Miko - Injured. Kingston - Injured. Stewart - suspended (more attacking). Who else have we got? NO ONE! I'm quite happy with the defence. I think Berra has been solid the last few games. Same goes for Wallace and Jonsson....the rest though? oh dear Get it sorted in January Csaba! How are you expected to score a goal with 8 "defenders" (the majority out of position) + a goalkeeper on the pitch.

heartsfc_fan
ok then punchy, have a rest mate!!! aguiar a defensive player??? ..What was he in 2006 and 2007? Or are you one of these armchair fans? He played as a holding midfielder who played alongside Hartley (an attacking player). When Brellier didn't play, he did. This season, ok he is being played in a more advanced role - BECAUSE THERE IS NO-ONE ELSE!

You're point was about having so many defensive players playing and you cite Bruno as one of these when the fact is he played the whole game (and every game he's had this season) behind the striker, in the hole, as the attacking midfielder. The fact he did a stint as a defensive midfielder in 06/07 means absolutely nout in relation to where he played tonight.

If anyone can whole-heartedly admit. Bruno Aguiar is NOT an attackng midfielder. Look at the stats - he doesn't score goals, he creates them. Paul Hartley is a prime example of an attacking midfielder (who ironically is being wasted in a more defensive role at Celtic).

The defence is the cause of our problems because they constantly sit too deep resulting in a huge gap between our defence and midfield. The end result is that the midfield drop back and then there is a similar gap between them and any front players. In the first half when Hamilton had one man upfront and we were in possession we had four men back in defence! Why? When they had the ball they pushed forward and a lots of times throughout the game they had every one of their outfield players in our half so I would not say that I am happy with our defence. They make tackles yes and work but I think they are at the root of our problems at the moment. It also does not help when you have lightweights in the form of Aguiar Palazuelos and Karapidis who are all far too easily put of the ball and are happy to hope that they get a foul rather than getting stuck in and tyring to win the ball back. Oh what I would give to have an all British Team with guys who are prepared to fight for the ball and not dive about looking for free kicks all the time. That's the rule is it? Doesn't matter if you create chances for others or have attempts at goals, things like that? Pretty sure Bruno scored in his first game back for the 1st team and scored in his first two reserve outings aswell sinve returning from injury. You've basically just made a daft comment about him and are now trying to salvage it by throwing it in a totally different direction. I think we've had a lot more attacking options since Bruno returned. Sadly we don't have the strikers to compliment this, although fingers crossed Nade keeps going the way he is. heartsfc_fan
Which is the job of an attaking midfielder! A "creative midfielder" is maybe a more appropriate name then Certainly not attacking. An attacking Midfielder scores 10+ goals a season - Hartley when he was at us. Lampard or Gerarrd are good examples. If anyone says Aguiar is an attacking player, they should be shot, burned and hung-out to dry....

He also has no understanding of the offside law either that or he is just stupid.

Robbie Neilson is NOT a Right Midfielder You maybe missed the point, granted it is very subtle. Just because Bruno HAS played in that position before doesn't make that his one and only position, ever, for the rest of his career. Bruno got played tonight, as he has in the last few games he's played as the attacking midfielder, hence making him an attacking midfielder. If he was sitting behind Nade just trying to break up play constantly and had zero creativity about him then this arguement might have some weight. Sadly, it doesn't. Generic Username
Robbie Neilson has been played as a Right Midfielder in the last 2 games, thus, making him a right midfielder... If he continues to play there thats what you'd class him as, you wouldn't say "right back Eggy Johnson passes to right back Robbie Neilson". Granted he's not a very good midfielder but if that's where he plays then that's what we'd have to accept he is.
